Great Versatile microphone
Truly an amazing piece of kit! This is the perfect option if you already have a decent pair of headphones or even a headset with a subpar Mic.It fastens to your headset via a Small magnet grip that sticks on with some supplied 3M tape. The audio comes though crystal clear and the microphone is flexible enough to bend and position into the perfect location for recording. There are 2 supplied wires (One long, the other medium length) that you can use to match your headset wire length, then you wrap the two together in a braided cable sheath, or via a few cable clips that hold the two wires together. The audio quality is very clear picking up the highs and lows of your voice easily while ignoring background noise considerably. Unidirectional mode however will pick up every keypress and mouse click, so make sure to turn this off via the slider on the front of the mic!You are also given lots of spares. You get extra Tape, a 2nd magnet, an extra foam pop filter, a carry case and even an inline mute button that clips on between the Mic and first wire. All in all a very solid product and worth every pennyPros :+Great Sound+ Lots of Extras+VersatileCons:- Sheath takes time to set up- Background noise

the sound quality is great, if you have a good sound card
To be honest, I decided to buy this mic only because the solution they provide. Moreover, the sound quality is great, if you have a good sound card. However, this mic would be better if the mic can adjust the position (some mic can bent to your mouth and improve the sound quality.)and I can't feel the different between uni and omni directional. because the other sounds can detected by this mic.Need voice activation or noise gate software to solve this problem.

It's OK but overpriced
I like the design and the physical aspects, the mic quality itself is decent for its size when using omni mode, uni mode is pretty poor although the isolation does work. Testing it against a lapel mic that costs a fiver shows it being slightly better.. but not by much. You're really paying for the physical side of things which is a nice design, but it's definitely over priced.Given that the uni mode isn't so good I think I would go for a mod mic 4 and save the money if I had to do it again.Incidentally you can get this working with an audio interface, this mic works off 1 - 10v so phantom power does not work. However if you buy a Pyle plmc15 mic and use the gold adapter along with a 3.5mm stereo to mono converter (total cost about 12 quid) you can use your audio interface. I have to set the gain at around 75% so there is some background noise, but it's usable depending on your application and the quality of your interface.

You may need a USB Soundcard
The mic works well, but there was a lot of background noise at first, but that was due to the fact that I was using my motherboard soundboard. For best quality audio you would need a USB Soundcard at least (which is what I bought).

Wires too fragile
The product arrived damaged. The cable was worn through and torn. Replacement received the next day and that also had a broken cable. Ended up have to buy a separate cable which is now fine. Sound quality is good and was easy to set up. Just a shame that more care isn't taken when putting the product together

Only buy this if it's your only option
The Mod Mic 4 Omnidirectional was a great product, but unfortunately it's now discontinued; they knew it was the superior product. It was cheap, (£25-35) and sounded absolutely great. On this version, you are forced to pay for the useless unidirectional mode (which just sounds bad), and not only that, but the Omnidirectional mode sounds WORSE than the mod Mic 4 Omnidiectional. Like Jesus Christ. You're now paying ~£55 for a mic that sounds worse than a previous, cheaper version, but also sounds worse than headset I bought in 2014 that cost me £25.I love the idea, but the Mod Mic 5 is just bad... I wouldn't even mind that much if it just sounded the same as the Mod Mic 4 Omni, but it's worse... and costs double the price...Wish I could just buy the Mod Mic 4 Omni again but the only version available now is Unidirectional (and Mod Mic 5), which just doesn't sound as good.Way to kill a great product.

Excellent microphone
Amazing quality mic and mounting system is really good.Kit comes with all the bits needed. Build seems good and using it most days for the last few months and haven't had any issues.Minor improvement would be a longer cable for the mic when using it with a standing desk. For the price I wish it came with a mic and headphone adapter to a single 3.5mm jack.

Well made great audio. But with some things to note
Good but most users may need to buy an external USB sound card like the sound blaster g7 for high end or some thing like the tecknet usb mini soundcard. To reduce noise coming through the line. Else a fantastic product. Else 5 stars
