Creative BT-W2 Portable Bluetooth Audio Transceiver with aptX Low Latency compatible for PC, Mac, Sony PS4 and Nintendo Switch

This is a really simple audio interface for bluetooth headphones. It works without the need of an external driver, it's a plug 'n play interface with just a single button for pairing and a single LED. Just with a long press of 4 seconds you are in pairing mode and you can then put your headphones in pairing mode as well and the two devices will link each other automatically after 4 to 5 seconds: done.If your headphones are aptX capable this receiver will immediately use the aptX LowLatency protocol in order to give good audio quality, low latency for games and video/movies consumption and the capability of driving an input stream through the headphones microphone.I highly recommend this product if you own a pair of high end or good bluetooth headphones, most of the gaming ones are just overprices and easy to break, they don't give any real advantage over a good stereo setup. And you can also activate Windows Sonic or Dolby Atmos on this receiver, for a great binaural experience while playing games!

My business laptop suffers from electrical noise, affecting both the integrated soundcard and any regular bluetooth dongles I tried. The BT-W2 does a great job for audio quality, minimal noise, quick pairing and connection. The negative is the PC treats it only as a soundcard, so you cannot use the bluetooth panel to switch between devices, pair devices with a pin, and Creative do not provide any software for this either.So it's OK if you understand the limitations, keep one device paired to it, and instead of turning off bluetooth, use sound settings to switch output or pull out the dongle.

I purchased this to pair with my PC for music streaming to Amazons Echo device, however a word of caution, you will also need a special audio Bluetooth dongle for that to work properly don't use the normal Bluetooth dongles as they wont work properly and the sound will be very choppy and cut out... I purchased a creative labs BT-W2 from amazon and that is working ok.I did ask both amazon and creative labs whether this would work? and neither company could confirm as they haven't tested the products on each others devices! a bit silly to be honest but lucky for me I took a gamble and it works ok, hopefully this info will help out someone else who wants to do the same as me?

Does not allow microphone use on common Bluetooth audio devices.Sound quality is good, aptx ll and so on, but I needed mic input which this didn't allow on 3 different Bluetooth audio devices.

Bought this originally for my Dell XPS 18 All-in-one PC and found that it improved Bluetooth audio connections to streaming devices 100% compared to the built in Bluetooth adapter and a couple of other USB Bluetooth adapters I tried. The Dell now reconnects to my Bose Soundlink 2 or Creative Roar 2 speakers every time. The aptX support gives it a low latency which works well when watching YouTube, iPlayer etc. and streaming the audio to a Bluetooth speaker.This device appears as an audio device rather than a Bluetooth device. Pairing is achieved by pressing and holding the small button on the end.For anyone whom it might help, I also tried it with a Rasperry Pi, and it worked flawlessly with no special drivers required.

First things first in case any prospective buyer are not aware of it, this is for audio only to send audio from a pc or laptop to headphones, bluetooth speaker or similar. It does not appear in devices as a bluetooth device.Connection is simple, make the BT-W2 discoverable by holding in the little button on the end for a few seconds and of course make the receiving bluetooth discoverable as well and that is it. You will probably have to right click on the Speaker icon in the task bar, select playback devices and select the appropiate device. The quality of sound through a good hi-fi system is absolutely fine.All very straight forward and worked first and every time for my Windows 10 laptop so why only three stars?Firstly for music the difference in sound quality between this and the much cheaper none aptx Plugable adapter I also bought is virtually indistinguishable if it exists at all (yes my bluetooth receiver does have aptx capability too). The aptx would probably make a noticible difference with video and lip sync problems but that is not what I use it for so I cannot comment on that aspect so for me the extra cost is not worth it.Secondly I have noticed the occasional very short duration drop out. The laptop and bluetooth receiver were only about eight feet apart, on the other hand the Plugable never dropped out during several hours listening with exactly the same set up.Thirdly the only way of actually turning the BT-W2 off is to unplug it which is fine except you are left with a small dongle in your hand wondering what to do with it - easy to lose. If you leave it in when not in use it sits there gently flashing away forever searching for a device to pair with. Contrast that with a normal bluetooth adapter which you can simply turn off in devices and leave in the usb port.So for me it was not worth the extra price with a couple of niggles thrown in, the periodic dropping of signal for a fraction of a second and having to take it out of the usb port to turn it off.

I recently purchased a pair of Creative Sound Blaster JAM blutooth headphones from Amazon, which I absolutely love. However, when I bought a PS4 for Black Friday, I discovered that my beloved headphones weren't compatible.... until I bought this. Works like a charm. Plugged it into the USB port on my PS4 and it paired easily with the headphones. Not only can I hear the sound through the headphones now but I can also use the mic on them for multiplayer games. Wonderful little device. Highly recommended. (Make sure to do your research if your headphones aren't from Creative, though!)

Parfait pour connecter son casque Bluetooth et mater des vidéos sans latence depuis son ordinateur.Le seul bémol vient de Windows qui gère mal la double connection bluetooth de mon casque Sennheiser PCX-550 II (il rebascule sur les enceintes à la moindre notification). Problème réglé en déconnectant le bluetooth du téléphone, mais quoiqu'il en soit ce transmetteur n'y est pour rien.

Der Adapter funktioniert super zusammen mit der Nintendo Switch. Ich benutze ihn sowohl am Dock, als auch per USB A zu USB C Adapter im Handheld Modus. Dass man den Adapter benötigt ist zwar etwas nervig, dafür kann man ihn aber ohne Adapter auch am Dock benutzen. Insgesamt empfinde ich ihn damit nützlicher als die anderen Adapter, die einen USB C Anschluss haben.Er wird sofort erkannt und beide Kopfhörer die ich damit benutze (Sennheiser PXC 550 und Sony MDR-XB650BT) verbinden sich direkt.Über Verzögerungen muss man sich keine Gedanken machen. Beide meiner Kopfhörer unterstützen "nur" aptX und nicht aptX Low Latency und ich höre keine Desynchronisation. Solange man also keinen uralten Kopfhörer benutzt der mindestens aptX unterstützt passt alles.Eine Sache ist mir an der Switch jedoch aufgefallen. Schaltet man sie in den Sleep Modus, bleibt der Adapter aktiv. Die Verbindung bricht ab, wird aber direkt wiederhergestellt. Das kann zu Verbindungsproblemen mit anderen Geräten führen! Wenn sowohl mein Handy als auch die Switch mit einem Kopfhörer verbunden sind und ich die Switch auf Sleep schalte, gibt der Kopfhörer nach dem erneuten Verbindungsversuch keinen Pieps mehr von sich, bis ich ihn aus und wieder einschalte. Hat man andere Bluetoothgeräte in der Nähe mit der Switch und anderen Geräten gekoppelt, würde ich daher empfehlen, den Adapter abzunehmen, wenn man ihn nicht mehr benötigt. Nimmt man ihn ab, direkt nachdem man die Switch auf Sleep stellt, passiert das nicht.Da das nicht mit dem Adapter zu tun hat, sondern mit den USB Anschlüssen der Switch, ziehe ich dafür auch nichts ab. Der Adapter tut was er soll und das sehr gut!

Uso este stick para dos cosas: conectar unos altavoces bluetooth inalámbricos (Creative Sound Blaster Roar 2) a la ps4, o bien para conectarlos a mi portátil (Macbook pro late 2008).En el primer caso el funcionamiento es excelente: pinchar y listo. (5 estrellas)En el segundo caso el funcionamiento es algo más errático dependiendo de qué use para reproducir (VLC, netflix, etc). Después de probar varias opciones, parece que la manera más sencilla de configurarlo en mac es ir a Preferencias del Sistema > Audio y seleccionar Creative BT-W2 como output. Esto parece funcionar con todos los modos de reproducción. No obstante, el proceso de resolución ha sido un poco tedioso y generalmente no funciona "pinchar y listo". (3 estrellas)

Gli unici due problemi di questo adattatore sono la portata, inferiore ai 5 metri, e il fatto che sono bluetooth 2.1.Specialmente quest'ultimo fatto mi ha creato problemi con le mie MDR-1000X (Che sono BT4). Nella fattispecie, l'audio salta se le cuffie sono collegate contemporaneamente a un telefono con BT4 (iPhone 6S), costringendovi a disconnettere quest'ultimo per un ascolto senza problemi. Questo non succede se collego le cuffie all'iPhone e contemporaneamente a un PC o un telefono Sony entrambi con Apt-X integrato. Per questo motivo sto per restituire il trasmettitore, anche se con sommo rammarico.

Dongle werd door Windows automatisch gevonden en geïnstalleerd, verbinden met mijn Sennheiser BTNC 4.5 gaat makkelijk, en er zit dankzij Aptx-II weinig vertraging in het geluid. Helaas heb je voor de microfoonfunctie een headset met FastStream nodig, en dat heeft de BTNC niet. Hiervoor moest ik dus achteraf nog een aparte microfoon halen.
