I have an 8 burner range cooker and I've been buying the silly and very expensive hob protectors with the cut out hole, they are really flimsy, don't fit very well and burn easily and I've had to replace most of them within four to six weeks which makes it a very expensive way to keep my hob in pristine condition. I've been looking for a better product and came across these grill mats.There are 5 mats in the packet, they are fairly thick and more substantial than the flimsy things that cost the earth, they are also quite long and just fit lengthwise inside the hob well on my cooker to cover two burners, I cut out two holes for the burners exactly where I need them and only need four sheets instead of the eight that I've been buying previously. I've had them in place for over six weeks now and they are still in tact, they haven't burnt, they fit well and don't move about and they clean very easily. I've put the other mat inside my oven and it works great. You can even put these on the BBQ grill which is amazing, they are the best I've used and are the brand that I will use from now on, I can get 5 sheets for the price of one of the others that I've previously used. Brilliant!!!

I use them in my electric contact grill [George Foreman]. They are great. I fold the sheet in two [which makes each half just about the same size as my grill surface] then I put the food inside. I add 2 mins to the cooking time when I use these sheets.I have some black grill sheets and some gold grill sheets but there is little to tell between them. Both reduce the surface temperature a bit so some things do not brown well - the only real disappointment I have had is with fish fingers but they were not superb in the electric grill on the first place.Grilled bubble & squeak, however, is just spiffing and it needs something like these sheets because it would otherwise stick like glue to the grill surface [particularly the bits of onion]. I lift it off with wooden spatulas and nothing is left behind [either on top or on the bottom] - the bits that are [very loosely] stuck to the grill sheet just lift straight off so nothing is wasted.I wash them by hand and it is a doddle. I know they are 'suitable' for dishwashing but I haven't got the faintest idea how to do that without it just being thrashed about & ending up as a crumpled lump in the corner. Just lay it flat across the top of the top layer of cups & things? How would it stay in place?I had previously written off my electric grill because some cooking bacon bits had stuck so hard that the non-stick coating had come off with them. These sheets have given the grill a whole new lease of life.I do still need to clean electric grills after using the sheets. Liquid and fat run-offs seep through the sheet material but they are never stuck on so they wipe off easily [in just the way that the GF mob falsely claim that everything does]. I put them in the sink after I've washed everything else and just use a plastic washing up brush on them.

Not quite what I was expecting. Sheets are about a mm thick and need to be washed up in sink with soapy hot water - not dishwasher. However, they do work on barbie but do take some of the heat out when cooking items.

Saves food sticking to the bbq. Always keep them in stock.

Got these to make my cooking trays last longer. Laying one of these on the trays then the food on top makes it easier to clean the tray as the majority of the food grease/juice stays on the mat which makes it easier to clean the mat over the tray. Depending how often you use these, these mats can last a while if washed properly.
