Top quality !
I've been trying this out as a headphone amp for a couple of weeks and I have to say it's really growing on me. At first I was a bit confused by some of the options and controls but that's to be expected really, it's not like any other products I've tried before. I like it's versatility and I can see this being a very useful tool in a lot of circumstances. The range of tones is excellent from flat and neutral to warm and dry and much more, bright, clean, clear or as dark as you want with plenty of overdrive if that's your thing. The connectivity makes it very a versatile piece of kit so I've ordered a splitter patch cable to experiment with some effects. My only gripe is the footswitch because it feels a bit cheap and lacks a shroud, it is also a little too close to some of the knobs. I don't see any reason not to give it 5 stars and recommend it highly !

Fantastic practice tool
Probably one of the best guitar related purchases I've made in a long while. I've used multi-effects units for over a decade but recently realised that I spend far more time tweaking patches trying to get 'the right sound' than I do actually playing the guitar. Although there are a few knobs and switches, they're simple and effective enough to let you dial in a reasonable sound in no time so you can get on with playing. The tones are more than acceptable for practice and the aux in is invaluable for practice along side backing tracks. I did see a review mention noise when using the pedal. I haven't experienced this (running on battery power). I do have one minor gripe which is the placement of the inputs and putputs - particularly the headphone output. It's on the top of the unit which I find a bit odd. I much prefer the layout on bass variant of this which has the inputs and outputs all along with front or back of the unit. A word of warning for headphone practice, however - when the pedal is bypassed, the volume jumps significantly. Watch your ears!

Fantastic tone control
Read lots of reviews and opted for this little amp. I’ve bought it primarily for home/headphone practise, but may well add it to my gigging pedalboard. The cab options are excellent, and it’s easy enough to dial in the tone you want when playing along to your playlist with phone plugged in for home stuff. Spent nearly three hours today playing through it, and I’m blown away with the tones. The fact that it doubles up as a DI too just adds to the multiple features and usability. Fantastic, and seems to be really well built too.

Great Box of Sonic Tricks!
Running this little box through a 125 watt Bose portable PA system and getting probably the best guitar sound I have ever achieved. I love the Fender and Messaboogie settings they both work incredibly well. I must confess I haven’t found the sweet spot on the British Amp setting but hey I got two great guitar amps in one little box. Well made, easy to use, versatile and great value for money!

Palmer pepamp mk2
I'll give this 3 stars as some reviewers were very happy with there purchase .the build quality and Finnish were good for the price but unfortunately I couldn't get rid of the background hum even though I was running it through a dedicated isolated power supply . I also found that the tone just wasn't for me so I had to return it . This amp is so close but not quite there for me .

Fantastic preamp
Just what I needed a great little pre amp great tones easy to use battery or DC power supply (not included) good variation of tones from vintage clean to British crunch and US overdrive EQ treble and bass. If your looking for an Distortion/Overdrive/ DI box/Direct recording with a small footprint I highly recommend.

Pocket amp, not...
Great build quality but, not a pocket amp as far as I could tell. Say 2watt output, nope, nothing came from my speaker once plugged into my rig...pity...

Just the job!
I needed a little battery powered practice amp quickly. An important gig coming up next week, so lots of practice to do, but unfortunately my usual practice space (the guest room) is going to be occupied by my mother in law for several days. Aaaagh! I literally wanted something whereby I could sit anywhere, including under the gazebo in the garden, that had an aux in and headphones out. This device does everything I need and more. Now able to practice to my hearts content, cans on, iPad playing audio files and as nice a bass sound as I need! However, it doesn’t end with convenience. The tone shaping circuits are pretty good. There’s a choice of clean, drive, or fuzz. A saturation control (not sure what this does yet, presumably a compressor of some kind). Finally a simple, but reasonably effective cab simulator with a choice of flat, modern (full range), and vintage (reduced top end). Add to that a DI box and you’ve got a really versatile little preamp rig. Can it emulate a couple of grands worth of serious rig? Of course not. However, it’s an eminently useful bit of gear that it’s easy enough to get a respectable, if not particularly refined, sound out of. I didn’t want to spend a small fortune on something like this and TBH, for £130 odd quid, I’m really impressed with this gadget. If nothing else, it can sit in my gig bag as a spare, just in case my amp goes down and I have to go straight into a PA at any point. In fact, I know of one or two gigs coming up, where I will go straight into the PA anyway and where this will save me carting my Helix along. Update March 24. Needed to do a little late night practice last night and so I set up in the kitchen with my bass, MacBook for audio files, the Palmer, and a pair of cans. I haven’t used this preamp for a while and I’d forgotten just how good it is. I’ll withdraw my reservations regarding the quality of sound from this little box. Certainly over my Sennheiser cans, I got as good a bass tone as I think I’ve ever had from any price/size/complexity of rig. Rich, subtlety bright and ballsy! Best £130 I’ve spent in a long time.

I have used this live, its a great preamp to go right into the mixing board and getting big sound (not just the flat bass right in tone) I also use it at home to go XLR out into my audio interface, it is really great for EQ’ing. The fuzz/gain is pretty good too, it has a good compression gain so its tight and buzzing where i need it, not buzzy/peaking out. The headphone jack also makes practicing nice. I have stopper hauling my cab around and don't feel i have sacrificed tone

Im a Semi driver and i was looking for a small practice amp for the road. Some like this model but from other brands are double or more in price. I play bass and it works for my needs very well. Construction and quality is really good.
