Q: Is there any kind of app security, or can anyone on your wifi network / in blutooth range control these speakers?

You have to set it up with your router password and a specic Audiopro app on your phone. I have not experienced any security problems to date.

Q: Will my CD player work with the c10?

There are line in connections on the back on phono sockets. So, I would think so.

Q: Do you need to use the App or can you just link it to your spotify via bluetooth?

Bluetooth. It also links seamlessly via the Spotify app, whether that be from desktop, tablet or mobile. However, need to connect it to your home WiFi first. But, sure... just do straightforward Bluetooth connection. However, you lose EQ control you'd otherwise get in the Audio Pro app. Also, be prepared... for music it's perfect. If you're streaming video, there's an awful lot of lag meaning voice and video will be out of sync (not that this matters for Spotify)

Q: Can I pair the Audio Pro with my laptop rather than smartphone?

This should be possible via Bluetooth. Not sure about WiFi. It should be possible to pair but not sure if you need the app for full functionality. Suggest contacting Audio Pro tech support. They are very good and answered my query the same day.
