Great bit of kit!
Bought this for son who wanted to used iPad (Garageband) to record digital piano, guitar, mic input etc. Looked at all the other options available and this seemed to be the one for me. It also has midi I/O too. Input 1 is good for mic and standard line level, Input 2 is wide (Hi-Z) and suitable for both guitar and line level. It is very sturdily constructed and comes with lite version of CuBase. No issues so far, no driver problems - it just works. Steinberg is a Yamaha company so this is what I would expect!I use this with a cheep and cheerful USB lightening 'Camera Adapter' to connect into the iPad. I have used Camera Adapters with (charges iPad at the same time) and without (iPad does not charge) USB power interface. When using unit with an iPad, you need to power the UR22 externally (I just use a power bank) as the iPad can only supply a maximum of 100mA to peripherals.Only had it a short time and so not been used that much, but so far so good.

A great interface, one to last
I ordered this to replace a Tascam interface that was no longer supported. All the ins/outs are as needed for my use - I don't need the instrument I/P but do need high quality sterio line ins for interfacing with other gear. The 2 x D-PRE inputs and 192 kHz really do deliver a clean sound into the DAW, in my case an iMac running El-Captain. There is no latency between sources and O/P's and the front panel mix control has a nice 'soft' centre position for no-look positioning. Like the choice of power inputs, like the position and feel of all the front panel controls. The headphone O/P drives my AKG Q701's without running out of steam, these phones do need a good driver and the UR still has plenty in reserve. Now the quibble. Some have mentioned about a 'lack of quality'. Whilst my experience does not relate this to the ability of the electronics to perform, it does relate to the case. Whilst solid the slightest tap makes it ring like a bell. The cure - I have lined it with Gaffa tape inside, there is just room for a layer and the perceived quality is massively improved. Still worth 5 stars though, a great little unit at the price.

Sweet sounding audio/midi interface for the price.
Really nice build quality, seems to work perfectly as long as you have the latest Yamaha Steinberg Driver, it was crashing my Macbook at first, once the latest drivers where installed it works perfectly, for the price it is great, the headphone output is a nice touch though not very loud especially if you're a drummer or like to mike your guitar amp. All in all very happy with it, I'm recording in Logic Pro X, but Cubase 9AI which chips with the unit is a nice program also.

Easy to use, great gear on a budget
Great piece of kit is you want to record demos etc. Comes with cubase AI software which installs via download and is easy to use.I found the mic input gain quite low using a standard Shure SM58 mic, and on recording a semi acoustic guitar, the gain level went from too quiet to distorted with little in between. May be a case of tweaking some settings.Phone volume has nice touch of adding the mix or having pure input.Great piece of equipment for a home studio at this price.

Tried other makes and brands that would not work or were even damaged on arrival but this product work straight from the start up and working with in 5 minutes and the sound is awesome

Great but theres a constant high pitched buzzing
The interface works great, apart from the constant buzzing in my headphones while using the audio monitor. Easy to use and microphone quality is great (Shure SM7B + FetHead)

Excellent in every way.
The quality of sound and build is excellent, the UR22 turned my iPad into a very capable instrument in my studio.I can plug my guitar in no problem and my midi keyboard, I added the new Apple camera adapter so running both with power is no problem.Next I'll be getting a USB battery pack so I can go out and use them in the field with descent mics.

Not compatible with my computer's USB 3.0/3.1 Intel's drivers v5.0.3.42
I really surprised that it had so many good reviews. I like the design, build and sound quality, but it is far from perfect. Most probably problem is Steinberg drivers for windows. When music is playing thru this DAC (sent from computer) it randomly dropping out (cutting out) sound it is impossible to watch a movie, or browse internet while listening to music. Created Steinberg support ticket with this issue and almost two weeks have passed - no one answered. Before buying I would suggest to search on the internet with words “UR interfaces audio drop outs (follow-up thread)”, or “UR22 cuts out intermittently”. It seems that people having issues like that since 2015 and there is no one simple solution. I tired few, that forum members suggested, but none worked for me.If Steinberg support won’t be able to help me to fix the problem – I will return it.I will update the process later.UPDATE:I found the problem and solution. The problem - incompatible with Intel's USB3.0/3.1 drivers v 5.0.3.42I own Gygabyte GA-X99-Gaming 5 motherboard with windows 7 OS - most do not have sound “drop out” problem, but I had - solved it buy uninstalling and installing USB 3 drivers form Device Manager.Only these:USB 3.0 Root HubUSB 3.0 eXtensible Host ControllerIntel's USB3 driver setup package also install usb monitoring programs that causing those bloody audio drop outs. Less crap and audio play as it should. Yeh!Enlightening article :)kb.stonegroup.co.uk/index.php?View=entry&EntryID=359#Driver_PackageSo I decided to keep the device, but I am leaving one star with a hope that in a future steinberg will release proper update.
