Excellent quality kit with simple instructions
I was a bit hesitant about this purchase as I didn’t want a ‘homespun’ lampshade, however, I couldn’t find a ready made one in a fabric I liked, so decided to give it a go. 10 out of 10 - the kit items are all high quality and the instructions are as clear as can be and accompanied by photos so provided you pay attention, you can’t go wrong! In under an hour I had finished the lampshade, and it’s as professional looking as anything I could have bought in a shop. Plus it’s unique and cost less to make than the most basic shop bought shade - although I did already have the fabric. A simple drum shade uses hardly any fabric though, so even if I had bought I would only have needed a small amount. I am already looking at my other lamps with a critical eye with a view to making another!

Fabulous and easy transformation project kits
I've used these kits before to make larger light./lamp shadesThis set was harder simply because it is the the smallest size and my fabric frayed alot.By the second shade, i applied some pva to the trimmed edge first to reduce fray and I used a thin pallet knife to push edging in from the inside and then finished with the curved edging tool.On the plus side: for the cost of 3 kits and a half metre of fabric (and the help of a sparky husband rewiring the light as it had rubber cable) ive completely transformed an old crappy looking original 1960s ceiling light into something acceptably contemporary retro.A Very happy bunny 😊

Pleasing end result and quite quick to do
Everything you need and end result is quite reasonable apart from raw edges which could be hidden with braid or similar I suppose. Using the edging tool was the most difficult part for me and I had to be quite brutal to get the fabric to tuck under. I ended up using my nails for most of it. A good way to get a coordinating shade and I would use this product again.

Fun project
Do watch how to make a lampshade on YouTube. A little fiddly on on getting the material straight , and sticking the rings in. I have made two now and i just love the results. So much nicer than you can buy in the shops, unless you pay mega bucks. I had fun making the lampshade. I did use same extra trim to make the inside finish look tidy, which doesn't come with the kit.

Good kit
This was a really good kit. It had very clear instruction, however they were a little small. It wasn't too difficult to make and I'm really happy with the results.

Excellent!
Excellent product with easy to follow instructions. I used left over fabric from curtains and made shades for bedside lamps. Looks very professional
