Highly recommended!
I was about to buy an RC plane for my son and myself and glad I discovered learning with a simulator was recommended first. This one seemed the most legit. So glad I did. I had my eye on a WWII type plane and with this simulator have learned those are more advanced. I would have spent $300-$400 and likely would have destroyed it the first time out. This simulator has shown me good beginner planes to practice on.The simulator itself works great and seems really accurate with how real planes likely fly.I can't recommended this enough for anyone thinking about getting into the hobby.

Great practice!!
So I recently bought an RC helicopter and didn't want to destroy it practicing aerobatic stunts such as inverted flying. This simulator has helped me so much. Very realistic physics, great graphics, the controller is very accurate to one you'd use for your RC planes and helicopters. Needless to say after a week of practice with the simulator, I was able to actually perform aerobatic stunts woth my helicopter such as inverted flying without completely destroying my helicopter. If you're feeling "iffy" on this product questioning if it's actually realistic or can help with real life flying, ponder no more, for this product is as realistic as it gets. (Even has adjustable wind speed, and direction, controls for landing gear, ect.)This simulator has taught me so much for controlling my helicopter. Would highly recomend this product for any body wanting to learn to fly RC's or wanting to practice before taking our there real ones to try that cool new trick.10 outta 10.(Idk what kind of computer you would need but im not having any issues with an i7 10700k + 3070) so do with that what you will. But buy this already, stop reading my comment, just buy it!!!

Feels like the real thing!
Planes:Wow, there are so many aircraft and flying sites to explore! I haven't had the chance to fly everything yet, but the planes I have flown feel incredibly realistic.Drones:If you're into racing or acro flying, this sim might not be the best fit for you. While it does offer a decent drone racing experience, it doesn't provide as much control over flight settings as a sim like Liftoff. Speaking of Liftoff, the InterLink DX controller is compatible with it, which is a plus.Overall, I'm thrilled to have this sim. I've already logged 11 hours, and I'm sure there are many more to come!

Requires 3rd party cookies & Web security shutdown. Go to your local FAA-authorized FRIA instead.
Avoid this product. You have to turn off all Web security and antivirus software, VPN and firewalls, then allow third party cookies on Chrome, just to sign up, download and run the actual Real Flight Evolution software provided by a third party called STEAM. Forget needing customer service from STEAM or their reseller, Horizon Hobbies. HH is only open 9-6 on weekdays, so you are out of luck if you are a working person. Using the HH contact Web form doesn't work either. It responds with a rejection of your input and CAPTCHA choices, and tells you to "try again later". If you are able to contact HH, it will take them 5 days to get back to you with canned, emailed instructions telling you to try fixes which you've already told them aren't working. Very frustrating. I have never experienced any product as poorly conceived and supported as this product, with it's complete lack of owner's manual, lack of DX instructions and non-existent customer support. As others have stated, the simulator planes become almost invisible soon after takeoff and start to pixilate with even short animated distances. Beginners mode does not provide a realistic sense of flying snd actual RC plane, so avoid it and start with the Advanced setting, if you can find it on the unlabeled DX controller. Worse, there is a total lack of the depth perception needed to gauge distances and plane positions, when attempting to approach the runways. The DX controller comes with one page of instructions, none of which address product use, with switches labeled as A,B,C, etc., with no explanation of the switch purpose, settings or how to operate them. An online screen showing active switch settings on the DX controller would be a huge help, yet as with most Spektrum products, common sense user WYSIWYG interfaces are missing. Instead of sacrificing your online safety to spend hours trying to learn to use and play with this mediocre product, buy an Apprentice RC RTF with a second controller and separate trainer module attachment (all sold and delivered by Amazon), then go to your nearest RC FAA-authorized FRIA club. The FRIA club will have runways, large flight areas far away from homes and businesses, and many experienced pilots who can do a far better job of teaching you how to fly an RC plane in realistic advanced mode, than this Real Flight risk to your personal time, personal privacy and online security.

Fun and versatile alternative to the real equipment.
Great tool to use for beginners and for those of us that no longer have a site to fly outdoors.

Great software with only two flaws
I've been a RC flyer for a long time and belonged to a club. Since I haven't flown in a few years, I thought I'd buy this to re sharpen my skills and technique. This product has been a really good test for me to fine tune my abilities. The number of available planes and fields to fly in are just fantastic. The functionality is realistic because each plane has different speed requirements to stay in the air, land and take off. Each plane has their own unique flight characteristics also.As my title infers, I find ONE really difficult factor to overcome. The peripheral vision is very limited so when I try maneuver a line for landing, I sometimes can't tell where the landing strip angle is for the plane to continue on that path. The other issue is when flying straight up or at a close, high angle to the camera view, the scene moves and 'spins" to re track the movement of the plane which CAN cause a disorientation to the flyer. These "flaws" do NOT take away from the overall quality, or other benefits from using this product.I HIGHLY recommend this for a first time "newbe" or even a seasoned flyer who wants to try out new techniques without sacrificing their actual models.
