Grimoire of Tiamat - Outstanding in the genre!
I primarily purchased Grimoire of Tiamat as I had in the past read The Labyrinths of Zin. So wasn't surprised to find that this was just as good. The book itself is intentionally dark, in places it has a delicious Lovecraftian feel. Often the beauty of the prose and invocations are quite luscious! Artistically it is reminiscent of dark metal album cover sketches. At 196 pages this book is good value for money. If you are just beginning, or for that matter some way along the path as sorcerer/sorceress you will like this book. It has a modern cruft free feel - and would very easily integrate with Chaos magick. It is well researched - something that is rare in books of this nature. If the author had included some information as to the construction of rituals or ritual mechanics this book would have been a classic in years to come. I would however, be a little wary of using someone elses sigils - it may be a good idea to construct your own.If you are looking for a lightweight yet powerful mythos to work with, you will not be unhappy or disappointed that you purchased this book - it is by far better than many books of the same genre that litter the market. I often thought that a larger format coffee table style luxury edition, would be a truly wonderful idea... Anyway - buy this book.
