Way too alternative!
As a mainstream teacher, I bought this to find out a bit more about Steiner-Waldorf education and whether any of the ideas could be used in my own classroom. It is neither 'the essential introduction' nor 'very readable' as the reviews suggest! There is some information about what actually happens in a Waldorf school but often hidden amongst philosophical 'waffle' which I found at best irritating and at worst incomprehensible. It does nothing to dispell the view of many that Waldorf education is 'way too alternative!' I struggled to about half way through the book before giving up and buying the Jack Petrash 'Understanding Waldorf Education' which is a far easier and better read and makes Waldorf sound like an excellent educational philosophy.

A good introduction to Waldorf's vision
I really enjoyed this book. It is sensitive, child-centred and rigorous in its approach.
