Keeps older tools with obsolete batteries working.I have 5 battery platforms. Now I only need to buy the best batteries and they work on all my tools.

My original batteries for my porter cable tools all began to fail. I decided to switch to dewalt for replacement tools but I have a lot of porter cable tools still in great condition and no batteries. I decided to order this adapter it fit perfectly and works great. I will say I have dropped the adapter and fortunately have had no issues.

This adapter works perfectly! My kids can now use my old tools with newer batteries.

I purchased this adapter for an older 18V Porter Cable tool set. I liked the Porter Cable set, as it included a Circular saw, drill, Sawzall and flashlight, but the NiCad batteries had little life and were almost DOA when purchased. They quickly fell into disuse, as I found it advantageous to just switch to the newer 20V XR DeWalt tools.The adapter allows a DeWalt 20v battery to connect and power the Porter Cable tools. The adapter + the DeWalt 20v battery together aren't much different in size and weight than the original NiCad batteries that came with the Porter Cable set. The Porter Cable tools all run nicely on the DeWalt 20V batteries with this adapter.

I didn't know these adapters existed until I recently saw a guy at work with a Rigid battery on his Dewalt drill. 10 years ago I bought a 18v Porter Cable NiCad drill combo set. Tools were great but within a year the batteries never held a charge more than a day. Ended up with a virtually new set collecting dust. Fast forward and everything I now have is Dewalt 20v Lithium. This adapter snaps right on and voila, I now have a Dewalt powered Porter Cable drill, saw, and spotlight. Well worth the money.

These adapters are great because they can help consolidate batteries. Dewalt batteries are a stable standard and I have many Dewalt tools.One thing I especially like about these adapters is that they are flat and do not introduce an angle between the tool and the battery. All it does is add about a half inch and nearly no weight. The Dewalt 18/20 bolt adapters are angled and make some tools a bit awkward or un-usable (like the vacuum).

been looking for this adapter for several yrs. couldnt bring myself to toss the tools but they finally made one to cross brands . got 5 and they test ok.

So far it seems to work great. Works with all DeWalt 20v batteries
