DELIGHTED!!!
The lamp post is well packed and well made. I secured the base using the screws and raw plugs provided by drilling x4 holes into a small concrete block that was just big enough to accomodate the lamp base. This block is similar in weight to two house bricks. The post comes in three sections that screw together. With the lantern fitted to the top the whole unit seems sturdy enough. However, there is a little play where the bottom post fits into the base. I overcame this by wedging into the gap a couple of stainless steel screws. If you touch the lamp or if there is a breeze it does rock ever so slightly from side to side. Providing the base is secured properly this shouldn't give any problems. Some reviews say that the light only lasts for 4 hours. I had precharged the solar panel on the lantern lid by placing it in full sunshine for several days for a few hours.before fully assembling. The lantern lighted up first time about 9.30 pm just as the daylight was fading and stayed fully lit for almost 6.5 hours, which I thought wasn't bad going! I had preselected the 'FULL ON MODE' as oppose to the HALF LIT MODE'. I reckon that the light is pretty bright which is cast about 9 feet from the lamp. You can see this in the photographs. The actual light colour isn't quite as white as it appears in the photos and is more inclined to be less frosted in appearance. Having said that it is still a clear bright light. The street lighting that can be seen in some of the photos didn't affect its performance. Normally with just the street lights, the shrubbery illuminated by the lamp would be in virtual darkness. The lamp post is sighted in a south facing position, so I don't envisage any problems with it during the summer months. Come autumn and winter I would expect a decrease in performance with shorter and lower daylight levels anyway. All in all we are extremely pleased with this lampost. You can judge for yourself from the attached photograhs!!!

Gives a good light on the low setting which appears to last ...
Stylish and charges well even in minimal sunshine. Gives a good light on the low setting which appears to last all night. Pleasant light, reminiscent of moonlight. Only fault is that it is very lightweight. The base has screw holes in the bottom as if it should be screwed on to something, which is tricky in the garden. I have screwed it on a block of wood weighted down with rocks. Many such lights have hollow bottoms which you can fill with sand to keep them stable. Spoils a good product

This will surprise you
I really like this product. It's a bit flimsy but that won't stop me being some more. It is constructed out of plastic and is assembled very easily without the need of any tools or DIY skills The only screws are the four that you secure it in to place. They even supply the screws. It comes supplied with a decent battery, not the usual 100mAH batteries that come with others. It has two settings, full and half power. Full power will produce 100 lumens. In layman's terms, that's bright. I've turned ours down to the half setting and that still is incredibly bright. Half power will increase the life of the battery. If you are able to brace the pole approx 2/3 up, you can eliminate the flimsiness.

Excellent Quality.
This looks lovely in my garden and I am so pleased with it. The lower setting is plenty bright enough by my fish pond. But for anybody who wants it on the higher setting. Wow is it a bright and brilliant light. I am so pleased that I purchased this and cannot rate it highly enough. It looks lovely. Is the right height for me. And shines beautifully in the dark. A very pretty glass light on the top with a lovely old fashioned look. Which reminds me of the lampost from the stories in the book of Narnia.

The solar light doesn’t work
Unfortunately this doesn’t work. I bought this exact one a few years ago and it was fantastic - it lit up brightly for a couple of years - but sadly this one isn’t. There was a really dim light for one evening when on the FULL setting and nothing at all when set to SEMI. We’ve had a couple of really sunny days too which should have charged it up but it didn’t. Very disappointed as it looks great but doesn’t light up. A lot of money to spend on an item that doesn’t work. Wish I’d gone for a cheaper option.

Looks nice but does not light up for long
Easy to put together and fix to the path While it is bright especially on the high setting it does not last it comes on at dusk but only works for about 3 to 4 hours in summer and 2 hours in winter even on low power setting Could really do with a better solar panel or battery

No funciona, la dejé cargando dos días, pero no se encendía. Otra cosa que no me gustó fue que el material es de plástico muy muy ligero. La he devuelto.
