does job, to a satisfactory standard
Well... The superpet silent spinner wheel 6.5" is an all in all excellent hamster, I am going to give you the most unbiased hamster review I possibly can. First of this wheel comes with a stand or a tab at the back of the wheel which enables it to be clipped to a wire (horizontally wired) cage, the cage does not however clell to vertical wired cages. The wheel itself makes minimal noise but then again you will never get a silent wheel, as the hamsters build pace on the wheel it begins to make a rumbling noise IF it is clipped to a wire cage, or maybe this was just my wheel, the wheel comes in a variation of colours as you may already know, so this makes the wheel all the more attractive, it is best to attach this wheel to the cage because MANY MANY hamsters have been know to topple over and knock down the wheel whilst trying to get directly underneath it while they explore every inch of their cages as they do and hamsters have nor the strength nor intelligence to pick it back up. Also when the hamster builds pace on the wheel it begins to make a small rumbling noise the sort of noise you hear when you stick your index fingers in your ears then use your thumb to smack the ear lobe, nevertheless I think this hamster is a good wheel and by the way it Is perfectly OK!!! For syrian hamsters, what most people don't know about syrian hamsters and their excercise system is that a hamster will walk on a wheel (if need be) to burn off the calories if the wheel is too small, that's why it is important to buy a hamster wheel big enough for your hamster although if you want your hamster to live the luxury life, buy the 12 INCH

SILENT SPINNER FOR MY 2 GERBILS
This is the seconed silent spinner i have purchased and they are good quality and as for quiet ok there not silent but they are quieter than most they dont squeak like some can as these have a bearing rather than plastic rubbing against each other although that is easy solved with a little bit of cooking oil for lubrication. If you spin the silent spinner by hand it is quiet and smooth but you must remember that once your pet is on there running round sudenly it becomes a slightly unbalanced weight so natutaly it would try to wobble slightly a bit like when your car tyres have not been balanced the faster you drive the more vibration you get through the steering wheel, so the heavier the pet the more unbalanced the force and this is what can cause some slight noise through the cage especialy when attached to the bars so how quiet it is can also depened on how your cage rattles as the unbalanced running of the wheel tends to shake them slightly so if this is what your wheel does its not faulty it can not be helped as there is no way of balancing the weight, so when my russian dwarfs run on it its is very quiet but my heavier gerbals causes a more unbalanced force so slightly more noise, But for your money you do get a very well made wheel that is as smooth running as they come and because it uses a bearing there should be no squeaking noises and less vibration so it does try and still worth the extra money even if it is not totaly silent.....

Great wheel, amazing for big rodents!
I got this wheel for my degus, as i wanted one without spokes, as it can hurt their feet, and also was attracted by the 'silent' part of the name since they are kept in my bedroom at all times, including at night. Although a bit more expensive, this wheel is very big so worth the money. All 3 of my degus can run on it at the same time, which they love doing to be honest, which is good. It is made of thick plastic, so is quite chew proof. You must be careful if buying this however, as it is one of the biggest wheels you can buy, and is good for things like chinchillas and hedgehogs, so bear it in mind, i have a large 2 tier chinchilla cage for my degus, about 80 cm high and it just about fit in, as the cage is split in half for them to climb. It is 'silent' as said in the name. It makes no noise itself, but still makes noise when the side of the cage rattles when it spins fast, so also take this into account. Overall though, I was really pleased with it :)

Very quiet - Suitable for Dwarfs only!
I ordered 2 of these for my pair of dwarf hamsters. It was obvious straight away that I had recieved a broken wheel as 1 made a very quiet purr, whilst the other made a very loud clacky noise. I sent it back straight away through Amazon returns and they supplied me with a replacement in good time, which was fine. Loved the colours which I was supplied with - pink and purple, the broken one was green. The wheels stand alone in the cage very well, and neither of my hamsters have managed to move or knock them over. They also have an attachment so they can be held up with the bars. They are very attractive, and of course very quiet. The hamsters love that it is weighted on ball bearings which makes it easier for them to run faster. Very reccomended! The 6.5" is a good size for a dwarf hamster, although TOO SMALL for a syrian, particularly a fully grown one! Please purchase the 12" size for a Syrian as bending their back as they run will cause long term spinal problems and they will be very unhappy!

Okay Wheel...
I keep my hamster in my room, so a silent wheel sounded brilliant at the time. The wheel that came with my cage squeaked and rattled and was a bit too small. When I found this one I couldn't believe it was almost £10 for it, but with nowhere else to put my hamster, I bought it. It came in about 4 days which was quicker than I expected, and originally I used the back clip to put it on the bars of the cage, although the clip is very chunky and stretched the bars quite a bit. I'll tell you now; IT IS NOT SILENT AT ALL. It didn't squeak, but it still rattled against the cage and made almost as much noise as the original wheel. After a while I moved it onto the stand, which helped LOADS. As long as it stays on top of the sawdust or a level surface it doesn't rattle about, but I still wouldn't say it was 'whisper quiet' as the description says. I guess it would be a lot quieter with a dwarf hamster, but my Syrian still makes quite a bit of noise with the actual running. It's a good fit so far, but I don't know what it'll be like when she's an adult. Not exactly value for money or whisper quiet, but decent if used with stand.

Excellent product
This is an excellent wheel for small mammals. Its big diameter makes it safer for (erm) large small animals such as adult male rats, who have plenty of room and do not have to bend their back to run inside it. Its continuous running surface (solid plastic rather than metal bars) makes it safe for the animal's paws. It's far from silent (it's rather clattery) which doesn't bother me at all, as I like to know when it's being enjoyed. A caveat if you're thinking of buying it for your rats: most rats don't bother with wheels - unlike degus or hamsters, they don't seem to have a natural urge to play on them. A wheel is just not a rat thing. For example: of my four rats, two totally ignore the wheel except as a place to hide food behind, and two played on it when they were young, but only a couple of rotations a few times a day at the very most, so in the end I discarded the wheel to make space for other toys which they would enjoy more. By all means take a chance on it if you have rats, but don't be surprised or disappointed if they don't take to it. NB smaller sizes than this 12" diameter wheel are NOT suitable for rats because of the strain it puts on their backs.

Sturdy but seems too small
Seems like a good quality and quiet. i have two issues with it. 1. Is has these clips on it, which create a little bit of spacing that I'm not sure how it will affect the hamster...I hope his feet don't get into them while running. 2. The mini size should be suitable for a dwarf hamster as indicated...but not that it's in the cage...and compared to the old one, I think it's not actually the right size..it's too small and I hope the hamster doesn't get back issues because of it..I don't want to pay for another wheel either so will have to just wait and see!!!!
