Does the box come with the blue fabric inside?

No. That is just the angle the photographer took the image. It is black inside and is really just a black box does what is needed though.

Hey. I would probably say no, the bases are made of some sort of soft card and is quite thin, the corners on mine have started to curl in because of it. Also when you press down on the top it presses down a little, not too bad though. however, for the price I did think it would be a lot worse than it is. hope this helps!

I have sheets that are 44cm x 31cm (A3 in wallets with a ring-binder margin) - will they lay flat comfortably?

The internal space is 31 1/2 com x 44 cm. It takes my A3 templates ,hope this helps
