Metaphysics: Constructing a World View (Contours of Christian Philosophy)

Overall excellent
I, like many of the other reviewers, am taking this class with LU. Excellent school, excellent class, excellent book. I highly recommend the chapter, "Minds and Bodies" for a brilliant explanation of the mind/body problem.I would, however, agree that the use of a little more scripture would increase my appreciation of this book. I understand that philosophers do not appeal to the Bible as a source of truth in their discipline; however, I'd like to see, in a Christian book, the use of scripture to back up the philosophy.Overall, excellent introductory book to Metaphysics.

Do not mind the previous two reviews...
They must have a case of the Mondays. When someone is looking for a Christian philosopher to read, I always recommend William Hasker and many others will too. This book is a great introduction to Metaphysics and to William Hasker. If you are interested in the subject, this is a must-read for all Christians. Great book!

Bought it new!
What do you expect from a new textbook. It did what it was supposed to do. Contents not my point of view but great for academic exercise.

Must have
Metaphysics is often a branch of Philosophy that gets overlooked especially if you come from the hard sciences that don't allow much of outside aspects. However everything and anything is dependent on Metaphysics. This book has an amazing form of introducing and continuing the topic for practically anyone. I will admit that I wish the book had some few more pages to cover more but at the same time it is good that it's short. Sometimes short books allow people to enter a topic without intimidating the mind. This is a great time.

Glad I don't serve the God of this book
I, like the previous reviewer, had to read this book for a class at Liberty University on Philosophy. The class is good, this book is awful. It seemed to me that everything had to be explained away by the author about God. No usage of Scripture when dealing with an explanation of sovereignty and his conclusion on the matter left much to be desired. I am glad that my God is not bound by my mind and that I don't need to explain God's sovereignty away to take account for my will. I would never had read it to begin with and coming away from it I feel like I know more about metaphysics than I did before but for being "Christian" it does leave a bad taste in my mouth.
