First impressions after 2 weeks.
I bought these because I wanted to understand what my foreign mother-in-law was saying about me when she was talking to my partner. I also wanted to use them to watch the TV whilst visiting in Europe. I’ve already tried using them to listen to news items via YOUTUBE and it seems to be working well, in fact better than I expected. I can now also watch foreign films and whilst some words get confused, they give me a good sense of what's going on. I’ve not got to grips with the teach yourself a foreign language and I’ve asked Timekettle to explain how that works

Consistently translation wrong with simple words
Had High hopes this would work well, or at least , the build quality seems high, but at £169 for a small set of headphones it should be,Bought to take on Holiday, My partner is Thai, so we had it set to English thai, it kept getting simplt thai words totally wrong making the translation, pretty useless,Also, it was dropping connection of one of the headphones, to make it work you need put back in case and take out again, then it would dro again after a few minutes,I would love to write a review saying the product worked well but it didnt sadly,

Great for Work or personal use when traveling
I work across multiple countries in Europe. I am ashamed to say I have minimal language skills but mostly the language of business is in English. However, many times I am in a meeting where to make sure there is no misunderstanding they revert to their own language. This caused my colleagues to have to give me a recap after that part of the meeting. With these Time Kettle earbuds I no longer feel out of the loop and have even been able to have full meetings where I am the only English speaker and the rest were in French. I let them know I was putting in the earbuds and they were able to go ahead in French as normal. I could listen on the ear bud and also see a translation on my phone screen. Best of all there is a transcript of the meeting you can download at the end. This saves time and also makes the meeting flow better. My only dislike is that I run multiple devices and I have to disconnect them before connecting them to each device if I change what I am using (lap-top, iPad or iPhone) For that reason I don't use them to listen to music. They are quite expensive but I got them from my company for business. All in all a great product, making life easier across multiple countries.

Maybe good, but not for Vietnamese language
Before traveling to Vietnam I tested the device with my Chinese friend and it worked fine. Let's say 95% accuracy. After arriving in southern Vietnam the device turns out to be very imprecise. The translation hardly corresponds to the spoken matter. I estimate the accuracy of the translation as 25%. The regular Google translator turns out to be much more accurate.

Do not buy
Absolutely terrible! I will be returning them.Purchased to use woth russian speaking relatives. It doesnt even pick up what i’m saying in English and just doesn’t respond when they speak Russian even when close to the phone or wearing the headphones…. Do not waste your money!

Isn't the future just yet.
Buyer beware - these far from the tech magic current pushers might make it appear. This is just a pair of rather okay bluetooth earbuds with a 30£ voucher of their proprietary translation app tacked on.The entire magic happens exclusively in your phone, and the app itself is far from reliable in terms of both doing it's job and, in case you run an Android phone - starting at all, let alone the paltry set of language pairings it provides. If you are looking for a tech gizmo that will translate conversations hands free - you are looking in the wrong place. The entire process requires your phone to be firmly in hand for the entire time, at which point you might be better suited just downloading any app from the Play or Apple Store with a prompt for "voice translator" while sporting any generic bluetooth earbuds for a fraction of the price and just as much, if not less hassle.
