Best on the market
Had these for years and remains the best handheld can opener on the market. Nice and smooth with a sharp cutting blade. Very safe and holds onto the lid so it can be safely dropped into the recycling.

Mother in law is happy 😊
My mother in law was in need of a new tin opener. She can be very particular about things so it was bo surprise when we had 5 in the cupboard and she was a still complaining.I had a look in here and found one like my nan had in the 80s, showed the MIL it and was glad to place the order. It arrived quickly and in perfect working order. Gave MIL a very quick demonstration and then just waited to see what she had to say about it.She was pleased as punch! She is getting towards being elderly now so easy use is imperative to allow her to have the self confidence to do these tasks and maintain her independence in as many ways as possible. It is light to hold, opens cans very easily and smoothly. It's Comfortable to use, straightforward and very easy to clean.Undoubtedly good value for money, it seems sturdy enough to probably last so long that it will likely be the last one she ever needs to purchase. Great item 👌

Does the job for most
This is my second Culinare tin opener. The knob broke on the last one, which is my only complaint because it could be made stronger with a little more of the metal into the plastic. Overall, this is a a lovely tin opener to hold and handle because it is all smooth edges. My elderly mum can't use it because there isn't enough leverage on the knob for her arthritic hands, so something to bear in mind if buying as a gift for someone with mobility problems in their hands. This tin opener has tackled any tin without a problem, which is one of the reasons I bought another one after the first one broke (It had lasted many years). I have tried other tin openers but they are either not as easy to use or don't open tins as well, or cost a silly high price, so this one is a good all rounder.

Brilliant
The media could not be loaded. Had one of these for years and it was starting to struggle with a tin of kidney beans , so after a few tears I bit the bullet and ordered a new one . OMG I should have binned the other years ago . Things had been not right for a while , I started to recall cursing it when I fancied some quick tomatoes on toast. Quick !! Not with that blunt old bit of kit. I’ve not looked back with the new one and my diet has been largely tin based recently as it’s just such a pleasure to use . Magi tin opener highly recommend

It's now langwishing in my kitchen bin
I once bought a magican opener from the RNIB back in the mid 90's. Both the cutter on the outside of the rim and the sarrated wheel on the inside of the rim were in direct alinement which isn't the case here and the inside of the handles were flat which again isn't the case here iether. When you possitioned the opener on the can and pressed the handles together, they snaped shut with a decisive click which firmly locked the handles together as well firmly locking the opener on to the can. This rubbish new one does niether of those things. It just about catches hold of the rim but handles don't lock so you have to squeese them hard and even then when you turn the knob to try and open the can, it doesn't show any signs of wanting to move in order to open the rechid thing. Amazon says it's easy to return items - and maybe it is if you don't have to ask for sighted help. So that's £8 down the drain which i'm obviously not happy about. My advice for what it's worth - don't waste your time and money on this useless product.

Not as good as their older can opener
Bought again after having the same opener for years. The new one is much cheaper plastic and not as robust. Don’t think it will last the test of time. Disappointed.

The can opener paradox
The can opener paradoxI felt compelled to draw myself away from solving legal issues and running my company to write about the humble can opener 😊A paradox is a seemingly absurd or contradictory statement or proposition which when investigated may prove to be well founded or true. The can opener paradox is: The more you pay above or below the Culinare Magican cost the worst the can opener you get.Why is this? Can opening requires a very simple well-built engineering solution which should result in a very low-cost robust product delivered at a moderate cost. Magican have achieve this with a simple quality solution at moderate cost that works beautifully and hence cannot easily be bettered. This means that the competition must do one of two things to compete either:1. Make a cheaper product of low quality. The problem here is that Magican are very low cost hence cheaper products can only be achieved by using very inferior materials and solutions.Or2. Make a shiny posh looking item that looks impressive and that hence costs more and does not work reliably. It does not work reliably because the competition has devoted their resources into making the product look impressive within a price band that will be accepted by the market. Hence, they have devoted little resource or none into solving the engineering problem.Magican are the best and at the most efficient cost per unit. You don’t need to spend a lot just buy a Magican opener and put the can opener frustration into the past. All products will wear out of course especially items that cut steel as this one does. But Magician works very well and is a low cost item to replace when it does eventually wear out.I am not associated with Magican in any way. Thanks for reading me… back to work now…have a great day. Very easy to Use
Very easy to use - much easier than I'd expected. You don't need to apply a lot of pressure to get it onto the can - I made the mistake of closing hard waiting to hear a click but there had been no need because it was already on.Easy to handwash clean in a blink and it must be pretty sharp because it's opened every can easily.Ten times better than the old style I used to use and in fact better than a battery-powered one I had a few years back.I don't know how easy it is for someone with arthritis, mind, but it's easier than anticipated.
