It's a great light for a cooler, and other things. On the low setting, it doesn't get even the slightest bit warm. It's bright setting is good enough for a deep woods flashlight for finding wood, or using a privy. It's red light settings are solid, flashing, and SOS. There is a blue light that blinks when you first turn it on, indicating the charge, which is very useful. Holding the power button for 3 seconds turns it off so you don't need to cycle through the settings. It always turns on at the low setting. So far, it's completely waterproof and seems unaffected by icy water. I haven't timed it, but it will easily shine for over a couple of days on the low setting. It's 5 1/4" long by 1 1/4" wide. My only gripe is that it's battery side heavy, which means the light shines in your eyes when you open the cooler if it's floating on top. I still give it 5 stars and highly recommend it. I'll probably buy more of these.

This is an item that is "nice" to have, but I don't consider it a "must have" as there are very few times I'm groping about in a cooler searching for my beer! But, I bought it on the off-chance a late night party at the campsite might require something like this. It lights well and there are a couple of different modes to change things up a bit. It appears to be well built and I really like the idea that it is rechargeable. Good item to have on hand. But, be warned...kids may want to keep opening the cooler just to see the pretty lights and that will not help your ice last very long.

This light is great. Put it in the bottom before you pack your cooler and turn it on and it shines up from the bottom and looks great, plus you can easily identify what’s what. Or, if your cooler is already packed, just leave it sitting on top of the ice and turn it on when needed. It’s great that it’s rechargeable, because most of the time at the end of the night I forget to turn it off, so i just grab it the next morning and plug it in. I wish there was a way to mount It to the lid so it could shine down on the contents but not completely necessary. In a smaller cooler one is plenty, but in a larger cooler (50-65 quart and up) I would recommend two. Overall great purchase if you’re looking for some illumination in a cooler.

It's compact, functional, and does exactly what I hoped it would do! I use it for the smaller ~8L soft-shell cooler bags on grocery runs. I even put this in those massive 54QT Coleman cooler packed with ice for several road trips. Even after 12+ hours of melted ice and a bunch of sticky snacks, this thing really held up. The light up button is a neat touch! It stays in the back of my fridge in case I ever need a quick chill pack. 10/10 would recommend.

This works great! Charges quickly and the light lasts all night long inside the ice-packed cooler. Was awesome bringing this to the 4th this year. Opened the cooler and the ice/drinks lit up. This will get you lots of comments and attention from other people! Also lights up red if you’d like. 👌

I put it in my freezer that does not have a light and just touch the button when I want to see whatcis in the freezer.
