Fine successor to my retired Seiko 7002.
Nice looking watch. Large easy to read face. Love the style. My Seiko 7002-7000 is finally showing some age related problems. Bought it new in around 1989 or 1990 or so in Singapore. Been a faithful companion for many years. I have been looking for a replacement for a while now. Don't like the round markers on the new Seiko's, but have had some models on my radar. Then I saw this Dan Henry while browsing through Amazon Automatic Watches...Saw that it has a Seiko movement, which is obviously fine by me! Plus I like the retro look and the squared markers. On my Seiko, I have always loved the stem being at 4 O'Clock instead of 3 O'Clock, and this 1970 follows a similar style. The 1970 has a classier look than my 7002, and I am definitely very happy with the purchase. I am not a diver, but I have gotten used to having the elapsed time bezel for a variety of reasons, and use it regularly. Having the compressor style with the bezel on the inside is also very nice.I was worried that the bezel knob might be a bit too "free wheeling" and be easily bumped off of where I have set it. This isn't the case. It is stiff, but not too stiff. Seems to be just about right. It stays where I put it, and I don't worry if it will be bumped out of position.Overall, very happy.

Poor quality, and much worse Customer Service
Have sent 3 messages to "Dan Henry' reporting I received a defective item -- runs slow -- and HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM AT ALL.Stay away from Dan Henry. Poor quality, and much worse Customer Service.

Very Good Watch
Love this watch. Perfect size and wears very comfortable. Very easy to read and classy looking. Smooth and accurate automatic movement. Nice detail, including the case back. Overall a great watch. The one area for improvement I see is with the lume. I wish that it lasted longer and was more in line with some of the Seikos in the same price range.Very good customer service with an open line of communication with Dan.If not for the lume being a little lack luster, this would be a 5 star watch.

He Nailed It!
I posted some pics of watches I myself collect. In the last couple of years, I've become a novice watch mechanic under the tutelage of a friend of mine who's been in the business for some 40 plus years. What does this have to do with the Dan Henry watch your now thinking. Well,,, this Watch is truly remarkable, remarkable in so many ways to say the least. To start, Build Quality is On Par with watches costing $1500 and More ( trust me, Look at my pics I posted, Omega, Longines and some not shown). The Seiko NH35 movement is a Rock solid movement. It's easy to Regulate to get COS specs and maintenance free for yrs. Easy and relatively inexpensive to replace if it needed to be replaced but we are talking 15 to 20 yrs of normal use here before having that ever be an issue. The Style???? Mannnnn! Vintage is what he's into (I myself for about 10yrs now) and this Watch Lover Dan Henry,,,,,,, Nailed it!!!! He took a Compressor Style Diver watch from the past and kept it real. What makes a Compressor Diver a true "Compressor Diver" is the none Screw down Crown and internal rotating bezel (please research Compressor Divers from the 60's and 70's to much to explain here) It's all there in this Watch . The rubber strap on this watch is also another reason Dan Henry knows his "iiiit". It's so flexible and so un- rubber like, it feels like some type of soft textured leather? Very nice, so nice I'm not even thinking of changing it to Leather. And I don't like rubber straps!Ok, I could go on and on but the truth is This man produced a Watch so full of Depth in the DIAL alone that it's way outside the $250 price point he is selling it for. It's Up there with the Big Boys. Hey Dan!,,,, your a Big Boy!!! That's why I'm displaying this baby not with my other divers you see in the pics ( and there's some goodies in there). I'm putting it with the other fine Vintage pieces I own. Why not? It looks and feels the part.

Great watch, can't go wrong.
This is a fantastic automatic watch, especially considering the price. It looks elegant, yet sporty. The movement has been spot on so far.

... don't usually write reviews but this is a very nice watch. Big and clear face
I don't usually write reviews but this is a very nice watch. Big and clear face, easy to control crowns, have not had it in the pool but soon did not leak in the shower. So far it is exactly accurate. Time will tell. Has a good feel. J C Tucson Az

He is in love with this watch
My boyfriend had been a scuba diver for 15+ years, he is obsessed with automatic dive watches. He mainly owns seiko, however I wanted to get him something that was a dive watch, yet classy looking and this watched exceeded my expectations! He is in love with this watch! He is so particular about watches and he says every time he puts it on that this watch is his favorite watch!
