Works well for me
This works well for small jobs. I recently moved to an apartment and needed a way to hold wood for carving, this seems like the best solution. C clamps work well for holding it to a sturdy table without damaging the table. Appears to be well constructed. Vice works well.

I really like this vice. It's doing a great job, looks nice, and is highly reconfigurable
I recently downsized from a 1,000 sq foot workshop to garage; as a result, I went from a very large workbench to a much smaller unit. The old workbench had a nice vice built in to it while I needed something different for this application. The new workshop is built around modularity and reconfigurability. Therefore, the woodworking vice needed to be something that I could adjust. This vice works perfectly for me. The clamps hold the vice securely to the work table surface and the handle allows excellent control over the vice's pressure. I'm less concerned with the looks (but it looks nice!) and more about the utility, and this vice doesn't disappoint. One thing that I miss about using a larger bench was the resistance to movement -- I could saw / hammer away at things on the old work table and it wouldn't go anywhere. The smaller work table didn't offer as much resistance to movement. That said, this is a function of the bench, not the vice. The vice is great. I'm able to relocate, reorient, reconfigure, the vice to meet my needs. No concerns, no problems. I'm very pleased.

Great, just one small issue
I purchased this because I live in an apartment where I'm not allowed to have things like a workbench outside. So, this portable workbench was a great alternative that I could just attach to a bench or something. It works really well! The clamping pressure is great if you're doing small projects, and the little clamps it comes with, while cheap, work well enough to hold the workbench to whatever surface it's on. I just have one small complaint, which is similar to some of the other reviews. The dog holes are juuuust slightly too large that the metal dogs don't quite fit perfectly. Therefore, they don't hold very well. This could probably be fixed by just putting a couple layers of tape or something, so it's not a big deal to me. It's surely a step up from just trying to use hand clamps to hold all my work down like I was doing before. To me it was a good investment for my situation. Though if you actually have room for a full-size workbench, I would suggest you just get that instead so you can work on both small and large projects. For a hobbyist with limited space, this works just fine!

does what it's supposed to do, slight kinks in wood, but no issues
I was a little dubious, having read so many reviews with issues. yes it has some stuff that's not perfect, but honestly for the price, it works perfectly as a vice and it looks nice too. So I'd definitely recommend it. I use it all the time. It holds tight, the dogs are aligned, the vices to hold it on the table work great. So overall, I'm very happy with it. I use it for sawing, chiselling, drilling of small and very large pieces. It holds steady and doesn't slip. When I got it, I noticed that the screws of the turning mechanism were a little loose. I could not tighten them, because the whole product is glued and then screwed, so it's impossible to take the wooden pieces apart to get at the screw. I thought it would annoy me, but honestly, I do not even notice it anymore and it does not affect how it works. One side of the wood had a bump and another a split. I fixed it with wood glue and saw dust. The surface of the product itself is not supersmooth, but again, who cares. Overall it's a good looking little device that does what it's supposed to. UPDATE AFTER 2 MONTHS - I still use it everyday and love the ease and size of it. I have noticed though that the wood is very soft. So, if you are clamping anything that is of an irregular size, ie a spoon instead of a flat piece of wood, the wood get's dented in the clamp area. I suggest using a 'filler' wood piece in between the object to be clamped and the clamp itself. That also helps if the piece to be clamped is taller than the actual clamp. Hope that made sense.

Well made, sturdy and solid wood
The product is sturdy, put together very well, with matching corners, finished wood and sturdy parts. Great size for working on small to medium projects. It's perfect for what I needed. The only thing that would have made it better is a second removable wood part that would help hold a corner in the V cut. Otherwise great!

This is a winner
I began using this right out of the box. They include clamps to hold it down to your workbench. Bench dogs are first quality. The vise is smooth (not a quick release) and strong. This looks like it is made of beech. If not beech, it's a very similar wood; excellent for bench builds. Imagine setting this into your existing bench; it could be removable if you needed portability. My shipper included a hardwood bench stop in the package as well as the advertised stuff. Have you checked vise prices recently? Crikey! This is a great value for the money.

Very bad workmanship
Don't waste your money. This vise is very poorly made. I have struggled to make it work, too no avail. It does clamp well to my small workbench, but that is the only positive thing I can say about it.

Very handy
This is very nice for converting a table inside the house into a small workbench. The only issue I have had is that the benchtop is a bit too short for my project. I might need to come up with an extension for planing 24 inch boards.

Really good addition to workshop

The bench dogs are so slack it is unfit for purpose the vice jaws rack and are of little use. The surface of the is rough uneven and poorly finished. The clamps are so roughly finished they are sharp and uncomfortable to use. I can't imagine what level of user would be satisfied with this junk.
