I bought a"Sh@rk" and that darned thing kept thumping into everything. Wandering, zig zagging, Hated my geometric carpet. Now this! It has cleaned once daily for a week now. I just mopped with it today! Wow! Thorough and mops in rows, back and fourth after it runs the perimeter first. It vacuumed a few pet hairs and mopped at the same time. After the kitchen, I rolled up the area rug in the living room and let it go. It's so precise when navigating furniture and has never banged into a wall like the other guy previously mentioned. I love this unit, however... The app is crap. I tried and retried for 3 hours and gave up. I'll probably have to call support. Ratings on the app are low too.Update: vacuum is still great, but a thumbs down on the app still. The unit started circling around a ghost spot in the kitchen, gave up and docked itself saying that vacuuming was complete. I re-mapped the apartment and she did fine for a week. Found the ghost in the bedroom and couldn't leave that spot. Kept circling the area but not wanting to touch that spot. Unit wouldn't go to a different area to finish the remaining room either. After 10 minutes she docked herself like before. I think I've re-mapped 4 times now this past month. No support from the app developers, never answered emails. I bumped the rating down 1 star due to the poor app.

Having owned several robot vacuums over the years, from Roomba's to Neato's, Samsungs, and others I can't even recall, it's nice to see that they are becoming more affordable and accessible to a wider audience. Amazon now offers a wide range of brands and models, some at very reasonable prices. The Shellbot is a great example of this. It offers a comprehensive set of features at a relatively low cost, especially if you can get it at a discounted price, as I did. It vacuums, sweeps, and mops, has a LIDAR sensor, multi-floor mapping, wireless connection, a phone app, and other sensors to improve navigation and obstacle avoidance, among other things. While these features are now standard for robot vacuums, the Shellbot stands out for having almost everything you would expect in a robot vacuum. For that, it receives high marks. However, the robot does have some of the same shortcomings as other vacuums. For example, it struggles with more complex obstacles, such as my Barcelona chairs, which often get it trapped, requiring me to set no-go zones. It also has difficulty with curtains getting tangled in its wheels and, oddly, attempts to climb low-profile objects, such as floor lamp bases. These issues are not deal-breakers, as you can always set no-go zones, but it would be nice to see a robot that is intelligent enough to navigate around common household items. The robot also loses points for its subpar height clearance and its "AI 2.0 obstacle avoidance" feature, which supposedly recognizes certain objects but did not work for me. I also couldn't find any information on how to use the product with Google Assistant, and trying to find the product in Google Home did not work. Another small issue is that the app does not send notifications. Lastly, I must say that this robot, like many other connected products, does little to alleviate my privacy concerns, especially when you are required to provide an email to use the app.Overall, this is an above-average product that won't disappoint you, especially if you can get it at the price point I did (around $200).

This is the first robot vacuum I've owned and so far Shellbot seems to be doing well. My floors are all hardwood and I own one cat and dog. The vacuum suction is powerful and keeps finding pet hair every day. The mop part is ok and better suited for maintaining the floors. Mapping and object avoidance is accurate. There was a hairball the cat left under the bed and shellbot went around. App however seems to be below average. App does not send notifications. App design could be better and schedule cleaning routine is buggy. Shellbot gets confused if I try to schedule it to clean more than one room at a time. I schedule one room a day and it seems to work. Spots where Shellbot gets stuck is easily remedied by setting up restricted zones in those areas. Stair avoidance works well also. It says that it can connect to Google Home but I have yet to figure out how to connect it. Overall a solid vacuum/mop combo for the price.

I don't Like that it looses wifi connection when I check wifi is perfect all over the house, out of 10 cleanings it'll loose wifi connection 6 times

The vacuum is great but the brush I cleaned it from all the hair that was collected, tried to put it back in. It doesn’t settle in there again the way it should so I could put the cover back on but unable to.

Set up in 15 mins without reading the instructions. Came with two dust tanks and one of two contains water tank. Has the ability to pair with the mobile app for room scan and remote control for cleaning and returning the charging station. One possible improvement is the verification email marked as spam and the app is buggy sometimes. Overall pretty fast and scan accuracy, and hardly seeing it hitting on the wall. The dust collection is also decent on normal power level, it is loud but definitely less noise than conventional hand hold vacuum cleaner. Overall pretty great experience and will recommend to others

After hours of trying, the app does not connect to the robot. That results in a severe limitation of the product.

It is a great product. It creates a map of your house once it does the first vacuum session. This is convenient and smart. We have been using the vacuum on a daily basis and it saves me bunch of time. I have really liked this one so far, it has done everything I expected plus a lot more.
