White LED
Basic White light - not much/any brighter than the OEM bulbs. Hopefully they last a long time. Polar-dependent installation!

Good Bulbs - Make sure you match the color of the bulb with the Lens
These are dual filament bulbs. The light is very sharp, clear, and projects decently far. You can use them both in brake lights and turn signals alike (both dual and single filament applications). Make sure you match the lens color with the LED color. I think many reviews complaining about 'not as bright as OEM bulbs' purchased a white LED and put it behind a colored lens. The white LED is so intense that if you put it behind a red color lens, most of the light will be reflected back in to the housing, causing a washed out color. The same is with amber colored lenses. You need an amber LED for an AMBER lens. If you use these as a blinker, you likely will need to get a compatible relay or similar to get rid of hyperflash. The bulbs are polarity sensitive, so if it doesn't work at first, unplug and flip the bulb around.

Well made. Not any brighter than factory
These 3157R LEDs worked very well in our 2013 edge for brake lights. The red color actually eliminated a slight orange tint the factory bulbs caused in the reflector. It's very red now. I did not rate it 5 stars though because I had to question if they were bright enough, as they certainly werent any brighter. This has more to do with bulb design than sheer led chip intensity. In the end they were at least as bright, more red, and instant on.

Seriously?...
So, instead of the three bank LEDs to provide somewhat of a 360 degree light output, even likely utilizing the reflector of most modern lamp housings, they now have redesigned the Ultinon to be a top facing light output bulb that does not in any way reflect off of such reflectors in any light housing unless it was pointed right at it (mounted in a socket on opposite site of a reflector, yeah no one does that) Very poor redesign. Shouldn't even be sold as what it is to be honest. It wouldn't even work well "off-road." I run this brand of bulbs across many of their lines, including headlamps and other lighting. I have been satisfied with the rest of their line ups. This is a major miss, however, and should be dropped from the market. To actually make it worse, is the fact they did, at one time, even sell a Sylvania ZEVO "copy but make changes so it's not as obvious" design that worked fantastic. Oh, they discontinued it long ago. Speaking of Sylvania.... I'm actually not the biggest fan of Sylvania, but for the BEST LED bulb......Sylvania ZEVO.

Build quality is unmatched; but not very bright.
These bulbs appear to be very well made, as most Philips products are. They were easy to install and they fit well. However, the brightness leaves a lot to be desired. Only 2/3 rows of LEDs lit up on each bulb; there are also no LEDs on the “top” of the bulb. The knockoff Chinese bulbs I had before weren’t built as well and one of them started to flicker after a year or so - but they had projector lenses and many more LEDs on them, and had much better light output. Philips could really improve this product if they made the LEDs brighter and added a few more alongside a projector lens.

Long Lasting but not Brighter
Installed on a 2004 Jeep Liberty for rear taillights. Installation is super easy: remove the 2 Torx bolts attaching the taillight assembly to the body, twist out each of the 3 bulb housings, swap the old for new bulbs, and put back together. Did 1 side and compared to the other that had traditional bulbs still. Maybe these last longer (time will tell) but in terms of brightness I can’t say this LED is any brighter and thus, worth the money...

good LED"s
these lights work great and are brighter than stock. i got them to better be seen on the roads for safety. my only gripe is that it does cause a light bulb out message to go on your dash. i just click okay and it goes away.. they are not canbus ready. they also stay on for either a few minutes or hours after i turn off car. they stay on at a very low light. they must be very efficient because it has never drained my battery. they do eventually turn off.

Perfect OEM replacement
These dropped right in to the factory bulb holders on my 2016 Ford Focus RS. Note that the bases appear symmetric but they are not! Perfect OEM replacement, nice and bright, and good color output for brakelights. These are hopefully the last brakelights that ever get put in this vehicle.
