Works as described

This isn't complicated. More expensive ones connect to the ground in an outlet. Those are more expensive. If there isn't an outlet nearby, then those won't work. With this type, you connect the alligator clip to a metal connected to the ground ... like a water pipe or radiator. Use copper wire to wrap around the metal, then attach the alligator clip to that copper wire. Just don't stick the copper wire or anything else in the outlet. I use this when using my bench buffer and grinder. It eliminates the static shock. It does what it's supposed to do.
