Great value and great for thicker mastics
Finding it increasingly difficult to use a manually operated caulking gun, tried the "Wolfcraft Electric Caulking Gun", at £54, with General Purpose Building Mastic, but it was just too gutless for such a thick mastic, so it was returned for a refund. While the "Ryobi 18V Electric Caulking Gun" is known to be effective, at over £100, with charger and battery, it was far too expensive for my limited use. As I already have a small air compressor, at just £18 this was a real bargain. I got a bit of a shock when the Sales Receipt with it said £91, presumably its original price, but that seems to have been an error and I was only charged the £18. I also needed to buy 15m of lightweight Polyurethane 5mm x 8mm Pneumatic Air Hose and the necessary connectors, which cost as much as the caulking gun, but it was still very good value. It is quite a basic, simple and solid piece of equipment, which directly applies the air pressure to the mastic inside to the tube, which is then forced out of the nozzle. The main issue was getting it to seal properly, so air was not gushing out. In this I screwed the front end onto the barrel as tight as possible to seal that, then inserted the caulking tube, nozzle first, into the back end of the barrel, then tightened the barrel as much as possible to press the caulking tube against the thick rubber seal in the handle body. The threads either end of the barrel are very coarse, so take a good bit of force to achieve a good seal against the thick rubber washers. Because it uses so little air, much less than any other air tool, providing it is sealed properly, it can operate with quite a small air compressor. I was expecting it to be quite uncontrollable, but within a few second was achieving a really nice neat bead of mastic around the shed window, just like a pro and far smoother than I could achieve with a manual gun. I do wonder how controllable it might be with a thinner mastic, or silicon rubber, as unlike the electric versions there is no speed control, it is either go or stop. You can turn down the air pressure, but that is not so convenient to adjust. I have not yet tried it on these thinner sealants. Very pleased with this caulking gun and, at the price, can thoroughly recommend it

Awsome
I absolutely love this caulk gun. I bought one for 70 quid and sent it back because it wasn't as good as this. There are a couple of issues though. #1 it needs a regulator to slow the air down, luckily enough i had one. other wise the trigger is all or nothing so whatever's in the gun comes out full pelt. #2 Also it only takes the small (300ml I think) tubes. I used it to put some windows in a van conversion. so if you buy a cheap £8 regulator and use small tunes of caulk-sealant its brilliant.

Works much better without the rubber seal in the end cap.
I have arthritis in my wrist, so when faced with a lot of sealants and building glue work when constructing my workshop I decided that a caulking gun would be a worthwhile investment. This gun arrived next day and I set about trying it out with a tube of evo-stik super-strong building adhesive that does not flow particularly easily (unless you have a REALLY strong grip) I was initially very disappointed with the performance of this gun as no matter how hard I tightened the end cap the threads would not perform an effective seal and leaked a significant amount of air. Upon examination, I determined that the major cause is the design of the thread in the end cap, and that removing the rubber washer allowed the thread enough extra travel to form a seal. After increasing the PSI beyond the recommended maximum of 70 to 90 the gun performed perfectly. This gun is a lot heavier and more robust than I was expecting, but I can still manage it single-handed and I figure it should last a lifetime. £20 well spent.

Better than expected
I have tried this unit with some very thick adhesive that was quite difficult to squeeze out of the normal applicator gun. The results were absolutely superb, far exceeding my expectations. Apart from the obvious disadvantage that you must have a supply of compressed air, the gun works well. The body must be firmly screwed into the handle section to create a seal on the internal thick rubber washer and the end of the chosen sealer tube. How the threads will fare over time I do not know, but they seem quite substantial.

Brilliant and not expensive.
Saved many hours and aching hands.

I didn't work for me.
I bought this to extrude sealer neatly around my windscreen. It is a clumsy design requiring a rubber ring to seal at either end of the cartridge. Within reasonable limits of tightening the cannister, I could not get a 100 % seal. On first use when I released the trigger, the plunger behind the trigger shout out and prevented the trigger being pressed again without fiddling around to push it back into place. Ended up returning it

Easy to use
I use this air gun for filling holes for chemical fixings. If anyone has done this manually they will know it can be hard work if you do a lot of them. This works great and takes out all of the effort. Very pleased.

Should have bought this years ago - Superb
Superb! - I get through a a lot of silicone and it kills my arms, and I never lay down a neat bead when doing a long one as you have to pause to re-grip the trigger and pull again. With this you just pull the putton and voila! - you just adjust your movement speed to suit the bead size you want. It also hardly oozes at all when you release the trigger - pretty much nothing compared to normal use. Sure, some air escapes - but it makes no difference. Air escapes from all my other air tools one way or another (usually vented as part of the air motor process)

Ottima!

Ottimo
Ottimo prodotto, molto professionale.
