14 inch diameter or larger round dolly will work great.

Q: Okay, I'm going to have to purchase a good American made cart with casters? Which do you recommend?

I bought the Large Vertical Gardening Stackable Planters and purchased casters separately which I fastened to a piece of 3/4 inch plywood. Works great for maximizing exposure to sun. But these don't hold enough soil to grow much more than herbs for which they are ideal.

Q: How do you keep soil from leaving that large hole at that bottom? even if i put it on a saucer, i would think soil would escape. what am i missing?

you can do several things: 1, put a piece of tape over each hole, 2 use some weed screen over hole, 3 use 1 1/4 chain link fence upper pole cut down to length and stuck into ground to stabilize stack, 4 cut the bottom out of a soda can to cover hole. I personally put mine on top of 2 concrete blocks with a fence pole stuck into the ground to elevate them so I could rotate the stack for more even sun exposure.... good luck
