Ladybird Classics: The Complete Audio Collection

Great stories covering a range of literature. They are well read. My only gripes are that the stories should have tracks (there are only two 35 minute tracks on each CD). Also the music at the start of each story is very loud compared to the narration. It's as if the levels haven't been sorted. It should be noted that the intro music to each story is the only music featured. So this isn't a problem when the stories start. I note that some reviewers see the lack of music and sound effects as a problem, however for me this was great as they were a great representation of the books featured. And less annoying. The stories are abridged, and as far as I can make out are pretty much verbatim (editing excluded) narrations featuring two stories to a disc. We have used them for our 4 year old and also the stories are good for adults too.

Our 5yr old granddaughter and her 9yr old sister love these stories which are clearly read out and well adapted for their age group so that Black Beauty, for example, is not upsetting but told in a way that is uplifting without losing the basic story line.

Lovely stories, my only comment would be the stories aren't split into tracks so you can't go back if you miss a bit which can happen when listening with children.

Bought these discs so my grandchildren could listen to them in the car ( it stopped them arguing). These brought back soany happy memories of when my sons listened to such stories I would highly recommend them

A great collection of classic stories which are cleverly abridged to fit a relatively standard playback length. I bought these for the car specifically for longer journeys and they are a definite favourite with all three children. There is a slight sound discrepancy between the 'cheery jingle' that serves as an interlude between each story and the actual narrative but once you get the volume controls sorted they are well worth it. I have also enjoyed listening to these stories again bringing back many happy childhood memories.

This is an amazing collection. Loads of beautifully read stories that appeal to all ages. They are a perfect length for keeping the kids awake on the after school activity run or whilst we're waiting. The stories are great for all ages (I have a 5year old, 3 year old and 1 year old) and even I enjoy them, some real classics. We really do love these and would recommend without a second thought

I bought these for my 5 year old son to listen to at bedtime after we read a book together. They are the original stories so can get a little gruesome at times. They are long enough (about 20 minutes at a guess) that he falls asleep before they end. He listens to them over and over and there are so many stories for the price. I enjoy sitting listening to them too! A great way to introduce younger children to the classics.

These are good, apart from two things: 1. Some of the stories stop half way through (and have been like this from the first listen) 2. The music at the end is so loud that it wakes our child up once he has fallen asleep; not ideal!

Bellissima collana di classici in Inglese da avere nella audioteca :) lo ascoltiamo sia a casa che in macchina per i tragitti più lunghi!
