Corgi TRIPCON5-C Concentrated Central Heating Leak Sealer - Clear

As with other reviewers, my central heating system (Worcester condensing combi boiler, 11 radiators, small bore pipes) was losing pressure over the course of a week to ten days, and needing recharging/bleeding.Fortunately, the highest point in our central heating system is a heated towel rail, with a bleed valve on top, so adding the leak sealer was just a question of unscrewing the housing and pouring it into the already partly empty radiator via a funnel.Recharged the system, bleeding air out as necessary, then ran the heating for a few hours. 3 weeks later, and it's still bang on pressure.Job's a good 'un.

It does work

Great product...Worked well for me.Had a slow leak on towel RAD.Almost zero leakage after 24 hours (looks like will be 100% sealed shortly).Product looks / smells like PVA Glue so advise shaking the bottle before putting into the system.Also BE AWARE that once it does its job (if it works for you) the boiler pressure will go up quickly... I also suspect it generally increases the boiler pressure due to changing water surface tension as my boiler pressure went up to the red bar twice even though I had let out pressure beforehand. Also be sure to open all RADs on the system to get even distribution.So far so good.

We have a Pulsacoil 2000 that's in its death throes and was losing approx half a litre of water a day from several leaks. Could not get plumber to fix us a new boiler in lockdown so tried pouring a bottle of this stuff in the header tank. A month later and not a drip to be found. I have no idea how long this will last but hoping to keep the Pulsacoil living until I can organise a boiler replacement. Very impressed.

My heating system (combi boiler with 11 radiators) started loosing about half a bar of pressure every two days. Left it for two weeks while topping up the pressure every day and no stains appeared on ceilings which meant it must have been under the ground floor (also checked the boiler pressure release pipe which was dry and hence almost certainly a pipe leak). Don’t fancy ripping up carpets and floorboards yet so I added one bottle to a radiator by turning off its valves, draining it, and then using an easyfill funnel attached to the radiator to poor it in. Fired up the boiler, put the pressure back up to 1 bar, bled the radiators and it’s been perfect since. Will be interesting to see how long it lasts but I am well impressed so far.

I found a very small leak in my heating system and used this to solve the problem. It took some time but did the job. It was a pain to put into the system through the header tank and I had to work very hard to flush airlocks out of the system after treatment but the end result is quieter and more efficient heating.

About a year ago I tried one of the other market leading leak stoppers which costs over twice the price of the Corgi. It slowed the problem but never managed to eliminate it completely, and the leak gradually got worse. After a while I dosed the system again, but with the same result. I reached the point where I was topping the system up daily, soI decided to give it one more try. I poured two bottles of the Corgi leak sealer into the system, and so far (two weeks later) the leak appears to have stopped. This observation is based purely on the fact that I am not now losing pressure. I was never able to find out where the leak was, so assumed it was under the ground floor.The fact remains that don't always assume that expensive is better, but time will tell?

This is a great product.My boiler was losing it's pressure over 2-3 days. I put about 300 ml (I spilt the rest) in my four radiator system, and the pressure has been constant at 1.0 bar when the system has been off. It's been in nearly 48 hours.One comment. i read about putting into a radiator (something that sounded tricky), but my system has a filter. It was really easy to isolate the filter whe the system was off, and put it in the system that way.Overall, 20 minutes and £13 was a great relief compared to getting a plumber to check all my under floor pipes leak-hunting.Highly recommended.
