solid build works great
this fan is awesome. have a 500 sq/ft shop, and it can completely clear the air in 30 seconds.I do alot of welding, and you can just set it on like 10% and forget about it.the thermometer option is nice also so it will wake up on hot daysbut, when you crank it when you need it, it really sucks. in a good way.

Measurements seem to be outside dimensions I could have purchased a larger fan.
Installed in my greenhouse. Not to loud. Thermostat works nicely. Operating since 2024.

Decent fan for the money.
I received this fan today to use as an exhaust fan in my 2 car garage. Packing was nice with plenty of styrofoam for protection. Mine looked new with no defects noticed upon primary inspection, and contained the fan and temperature/speed control,as ordered. The first thing I noticed was that the power cord was not wired into the fan motor. No big deal because simple wiring instructions are included and I'm experienced in wiring as well, but the ad did not mention "wiring required". There were a couple of small items missing though. The bulkhead fitting for the electrcial junction box was missing, even though the instructions stated that the hardware included aforementioned bulkhead fitting. I happen to have 1 that would fit or I would've had to make a hardware store run. There were also a couple of tiny rubber plugs missing from some holes in the body of the motor. The holes are probably from manufacturing the body of the motor, and there was 1 plug in place but 3 were missing. I filled the holes with a little bit of silicone and continued on. The rest of the initial inspection and test-run was pretty well standard. The fan and controller worked as advertised, although I did not try to set the temp control portion. Turning the temp control knob all the way counter-clockwise bypasses the temp control feature,by the way. There is a power on/off switch next to the speed control knob. The speed control worked well and the fan responded accordingly. One note--if you have the speed control on the minimum speed and turn the power off,the next time it is turned on,the fan will run at full speed for a second or two before the speed controller backs it down to low. Apparently this is normal as mine did it several times when I would turn the power off and back on,so I figured it was just how it works. The slats worked well with no binding and the fan itself seems relatively quiet for a 16" fan. All-in-all,a decent fan for the money and yes,I would buy it again.

Good greenhouse fan
Put this in to cool my greenhouse. Fan speed and thermostat seem good. The plastic was annoying to remove, but as long as it keeps working...5 stars. Seems quiet, just over 16 inch hole (16.25" square), and I'll update after it moves more air.

Couldn't be easier
This fan is light weight but well constructed. Installation could not have been easier. I cut a 16.5 inch square hole with a jig saw, using a blade rated for thin metal. Then I used a permanent marker to mark the location of the eight mounting holes on the wall and drilled them out to take 1/4 inch by 1 inch bolts with lock washers. The fan is quiet and there is no vibration whatsoever. Some reviewers have said they felt that they needed to construct a frame. I did not find that to be necessary. The thermostat works very well. I find the fan speed control to be of little value as any speed less than full will cause the louvers to drop a lot. If you only need the fan on when you are in the building you can save some money by using a switched outlet and forgoing the thermostat.
