Would recommend have bought before

I am a curry addict with tons of experience (usually disappointing) with various curry kits, powders and pastes. This makes a very tasty curry and way better than any powdered mixes - but still not quite as good as a real restaurant curry. I don't stock ghee, but found frying the paste in butter instead of cooking oil made the taste richer and more authentic. I like full bodied curries and needed to increase the paste content by 50% more and used meat stock in the universal mix (as per supplied recipe) instead of water to suit my own tastes. 5 stars for taste, convenience and value for money - and being able to make a healthier curry than takeaways. I will be buying more!

Mr Huda's Universal Curry paste is super. I usually use it to add depth to curry's that I am making. Make the sauce base by either frying or boiling oniions, garlic, ginger, chilli, peppers, tomatoes etc and then blending together with the addition of ground spices as required. Then fry the whole spices, add the sauce base and Mr Huda's Universal Curry Paste. I like to make chicken, spinanch and fresh methi curry and this paste takes it to a whole new level. Yummy!

I used to LOVE buying and eating Chicken Pathia from my local Indian take-away and funnily enough not many take-away's actually do this recipe. I decided that once I had moved house and lost my wonderful take-away that supplied my Chicken Pathia (nom nom) I needed to learn to make the exact recipe! I did a bit of searching on Google and found this marvelous creation. This was exactly what I needed. I use this plus a selection of other spices commonly used in Indian cooking - Turmeric, Cumin etc. plus the usual tomatoes, onions etc. At home, using Mr Huda's Universal Curry Paste. It tastes exactly the same and even costs me a lot less to make it myself (plus I know what exactly is going into it lol) This comes in a pack of 3 which makes it very good value as you always have a jar or two in stock. I'd suggest you try to make your own currys with this marvelous paste and see how much money you save whilst guarding your families health as you will know exactly what ingredients are in your meal. RECOMMENDED! And great I can buy it from Amazon, awesome.

Great product ...used it to make a chicken curry. Lovely authentic taste and it saves a lot of time roasting and grinding your own spices to make a curry base. Will defininately use again.

Been using this paste for a couple of years now and it is brilliant. Used as a base in many recipes and does make truly authentic curry dishes. I make a Korma from a recipe obtained from the "spices of india" website for my wife and she says it is as good if not better than any she has had in restaurants. I prefer Jalfrezi, Patia types dishes and again this paste is excellent when used in the dishes from previouslay mentioned website. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I have tried so many different recipes over the years. I have even tried the restaurant cook book and made up batches of sauces to use for different recipes. I came across this purely by accident when looking for a Dansak recipe and stumbled onto the Spices of India website, which had a recipe using Mr Huda. So I looked it up, and then bought some on Amazon to give it a go. I have finally achieved my perfect curry. It is a 2 stage process, but as anyone who has tried multiple recipes, the good ones are never simple. The stages of this are dead simple though, quick, easy, smell free and you can make in bulk and freeze for future use. I have now finished my search for my perfect curry recipe. If you like Dansak, the recipe on the Mr Huda website is perfect. I'm now working my way through all the others.
