This is one of a series of textbooks for KS3 History, which take students from 1066 to the present day. This particular book is titled, “Renaissance, Revolution and Reformation,” and covers Britain in 1509-1745. This covers the Tudors, Queen Elizabeth, the Stuarts, the Civil War, the Restoration, the Glorious Revolution and a Changing Nation.I purchased this for my son to help him revise for end of term exams. He enjoys history and this is a well laid out, colourful book, with lots of suggestions for extending your learning. Topics include ‘Mission Objectives.’ Which show key aims and learning targets. There are also facts, ‘Wise up Words’ which are terms that you should look up – either in a dictionary, or in the glossary at the back of the book – ideas of how to extend your knowledge, ‘History Mystery’ section to put skills together to look at questions and also suggestions for ‘Work’ to help you demonstrate knowledge. The book also has three, ‘Assessing your Learning’ sections, which really extend writing.This is really to be used in a classroom, although it is useful for home learning too. There are no answers to questions, as most are extended pieces of writing, but this is a really useful book to use with students who are interested in history and wan to improve their knowledge and exam technique.

Looks good , but need to ask the person after Christmas as this is a present, but what I have read it seams to o the job.

This is such an excellent book to use with my students! There are some brilliant enquiries that really make history fun and interesting. The kids love the fun yet accurate illustrations and the text is accessible for a range of abilities. As a new teacher starting out, this book has provided me with some brilliant ideas to get creative in the classroom and develop a love of history with my students. A must have book, can't wait to get the teacher guide to access the online resources, plans and schemes of work!
