Q: do these filters have a plastic bottom or are they flimsy?

They're more flimsy..no plastic bottom. The water needs to travel through the top and bottom.

Q: How often should you change the water?

I change the water once a week. The filter every 3 to 4 weeks. I also add water each day to keep it filled up & flowing out of the flower due to evaporation & water that my 2 cats drink. Hope that helps.

Q: The cotton is white so I’m guessing it’s been bleached. Any research done on the chemicals the cats are being exposed to because of this?

The picture looks whiter than the actual product. Looks like unbleached cotton in real life.
