Good sensible explanation
This is really interesting and I can completely get what she’s saying. The way the author explains it make me confident that I can make myself healthier in small steps. It’s not a fad diet either. So fed up with buying books which are impossible to follow through on.

useful but a letdown on actual diet plan/menu
I had high expectations for this book. While it give a lot of baseline knowledge and science behind hormones the title of the book is hormone reset diet and I would have expected some kind of diet plan menu for the 21 days. While most people have the time or the head to think of a menu plan I certainly don't I bought the book as I have struggled with weight loss a busy mum of two hardly have time to think beyond the scope when it comes to mealtimes. Not recipes but a plan menu for 21 days with a comprehensive food shopping list for the 21days would have optimised the use and purpose of this book. I struggle badly with fatigue and headache all boiling down to diet and weight it was an effort to read and absorb the book and now I have to spend time thinking of a menu in order to commence on this diet. A sample menu is provided for each hormone reset unless one wishes to use this for three days on each hormone reset. Useful information but a let down on the actual diet plan aspect.

Loosing weight in a healthy way
This book have given me and my husband the means to loose over a stone each, after many failed attempts and trying almost every diet out there for the past six years. More than that, it has given me an insight into what foods don't work well for my body, it has given me glowing healthy skin, and hair and shown me how radically cutting down on caffeine, sugar, and grains even after the reset I can feel so much better, and have more energy. The only thing I can say is that as I cut out all foods/drinks at the same time, day 2-4 were a great test, with headaches, light headedness, low energy and hunger. I couldn't really work. From day 5 onwards it was a breeze, the weight has literally fallen off. I am still using the diet as a guideline on a daily basis, cooking in a new way where my food is even more delicious, using lots of fresh ingredients that fill me up but does not bloat me or add weight to me. I am enjoying treats, just not on a daily basis. This diet works, it is worth the money, but requires some effort in finding a good way of eating at first.

This is good for men and women
At last, now I know what I can and can't eat, it's made a massive difference to my weight. I feel cleaner on the inside. No more painful bloating, excess gas and unzipping my jeans! Whether you've had the menopause or like me, you're very peri! read this book and follow the 21 day programme, don't have to be too rigid, as most of the ingredients one can't find in South Wales! Even if you use this as a guide, ie i couldn't quite give up the alcohol for 21 days, you'll at least understand what food upsets you. It's made all the difference! Have really rethought about toxins and what they do to my body and my home, I'm really making a contribution to reduce my carbon footprint. This has really changed my attitude but I don't feel like the changes have been totally drastic. Give it a go, men and women afterall both sexes go through hormonal changes. My husband us giving it a go too.

Rubbish
On the face of it this books looks like a game changer. Do an elimination of different foods to reset your hormones allowing your body to work better.For each of the seven areas looked at there is a self assessment checklist and for each one if you select five or more of the conditions (which include things like ever had PMS? or felt fatigued? - who hasn't!!!!!!) then you need to do the detox. If you have fewer that five you may still be prone to this issue so do the detox anyway.Totally non scientific and therefore worthless.

Complicated but works
This is quite a good read although quite complicated. I took parts of it as too prescriptive and difficult to follow properly but I still managed to lose weight with the basic principles of it which I hadn’t managed to do with other diets.

Don’t bother
This book has all the good intentions. I found it hard to follow with all the instructions and things you had to do in order to reset your hormones balance. Didn’t make it the 3rd chapter

Super easy to follow - Great read that kept me engaged - Lost 10 LBS!!
I have nothing but amazing words for this book. I've tried mostly all the diets out there... WW, Herbal etc.. nothing has helped me lose the 10 lbs and keep it off until now. This brings you back to the basics and it really makes you think about what you're putting into your body! I really felt detoxed after going through her steps and would recommend this book and eating plan for anything looking to re-start their hormones and get back to the basics.

Great Book
Really a good book to address specifically hormonal weight gain. I think this one is the best book that I read about this topic.

Okay but slightly poorly explained
I doubt very much that in 21 days you will reset your hormones. For Mediterranean people many of these proposals are integrated into our diet, Americans with their way of eating may work for them. I have my doubts but my best regards to Dr. Gootfried.
