I bought this product for use on my model railway where I need to place static grass in small and accurate locations like between the track as shown in the accompanying photo. It is easy to use and I am very pleased with it. The set comes with two small packs of grass to start you off and only needs a PP9 battery.

The item is ideal for single figures if you're a wargamer. I purchased the larger model for diorama, or multi model use. Just taken delivery of that so cannot offer opinion. The amount of material the unit holds is small but the effect on cavalry base in 20mm is very good. You need to experiment with it to get the best results. I like it.

What a waste of money

I bought this applicator over others due to it's small size. I mainly build small dioramas so a big applicator would waste a lot of static grass or at least make a big mess. Unfortunately the mesh on this seems to be too fine for anything above 4mm grass. It seems to work reasonably well for 1-3mm though. This is an easy enough fix - just use a bigger emsh. Unfortunately none seem to be available pre-made so I'll have to scratch-build one (RIP gf's sieve).In addition the battery compartment was a real **** to open, needed a screwdriver to pry it open. Battery didn't seem to match up to the contacts well at first but after some jiggery-pokery all is well. Some small amounts of static grass and a little glue is provided for free which is a nice touch but would rather a second mesh with larger grid size for 6-12mm grass.all in all decent product, does the job. Just a little rough around the edges

Great product but very messy. Also it doesn't like the darker grass. Excellent for lighter colors

Ich habe mir diesen kleinen Begraser als Ergänzung zu meinem Greenmaster 35kv von RTS und dem Noch Grasmaster 2.0 gekauft, gerade um die etwas kleineren, engeren Bereiche des Modellgeländes zu "begrünen".Für große Flächen und Fasern ab 6mm ist das Gerät nicht ausgelegt, dafür benötigt man eher die o.g. "Kaliber", aber gerade für filigrane Arbeiten direkt am Modellhaus, unter montierten Bäumen, Gleisbett, Vorgarten, Wald- oder Feldwegen ist das Gerät super.Die Leistung liegt bei 15kv, was bei den 2mm und 4mm Fasern aber vollkommen ausreichend ist, die Fasern stehen wie eine 1.Durch die Form, die einer Mini Maglite ähnelt,kann man auch wunderbar sehen, wohin man gerade die Fasern schießt, bei den o.g. größeren Geräten, muß man immer drumherum schauen, weil der Becherdurchmesse viel größer ist.Klar ist, dass in den kleinen Becher keine riesen Mengen Fasern passen, man also öfter nachfüllen muß...Die Verarbeitung ist meines erachtens auch hochwertig, die Batterie wird in einer Schublade gehalten ( Kein Clips, der an die Batterie gesteckt werden muß), ein beleuchteter Ein/Ausschalter, und das robuste Gehäuse mit der Elektronik und dem Gegenpol mit Krokodilklemme machen einen soliden Eindruck.Der Preis ist aus meiner Sicht entsprechend.Als eventuellen Nachteil könnte man, je nach Sichtweise, die unflexible Basisstation mit Batterie sehen, da ich die zwingend immer irgendwo auf der Anlage abstellen muß, wenn ich "Vor Ort" begrase.Bei den größeren o.g. Begrasern, habe ich alles in einem Handgerät, dafür ist es aber für engere Stellen etc. nicht einsetzbar.Ich würde das Gerät wieder kaufen.
