Side by side comparison and taste test
Although these are marketed on a single page, these are four distinct bars, each with its own particular flavor and texture. I got the variety pack so I am doing a side by side comparison, which will hopefully help you choose the right one for you, and I really think that some of the negative reviews might come down to having chosen a bar that is not the right fit. All that to say, what these bars have in common is that they are a very sweet milk chocolate style candy bar, and they do that very well.Almond Milk bar is probably the most “neutral” in terms of texture and flavor. It has no discernible almond flavor, it has a medium smooth texture, with the slight snap that I expect from a sweet chocolate bar, and it really nails that traditional milk chocolate mouthfeel. If they took “almondmilk” off the label they could market this one as the standard bar. Coconut Milk bar is by far the softest and smoothest of the Lovo bars, it is very creamy and super rich with no discernible snap and it melts like you know what. It has an unmistakable toasted coconut flavor— for coconut lovers only! Definitely I would say that this is almost like a toasted coconut ganache bar, the creamy softness of it borders on being like a sweet coconut truffle filling. Hazelnut Milk bar has that luxurious European flavor that elevates candy into something almost sophisticated, okay it is still just candy. But this bar is my favorite because it has that milk chocolate nostalgia and that Nutella edge. It is ever so slightly softer and smoother than the almond milk bar, but no way near the coconut bar. It still has a very slight snap that immediately melts, and it has a less pronounced hazelnut flavor when compared to the coconut or the oat. So I would say it is the second most neutral if you are expecting a standard yet elevated milk chocolate style experience. Oat Milk bar is far and away the snappiest of the bars. On initial bite it almost has a dry texture, but that quickly melts into an almost oily finish. It also rivals the coconut in terms of flavor, with a bold cereal-like aroma, it really threw me for a loop because this is a chocolate candy that has been infused with toasted grains in a way that I have not tasted before. It lives up to its name, but if you are expecting the ultimate neutral “flavor” of Oatley, then this bar will surprise you with its oat forwardness. So you see, they are all very different. I hope this helps.

Chocolate Heaven
The best dairy-free chocolates I have ever eaten! And yes, I’ve eaten quite a lot of different dairy free chocolates. I detest cocoa butter as an ingredient in chocolate. LoVo does not have that greasy cocoa butter in its products. It’s just pure chocolate mixed with either coconut milk, oat milk or hazelnut milk. Simply delicious. The only thing they don’t have are chocolate CHIPS. They only have the chocolate bar cut into squares. I make chocolate chip cookies with LoVO but have to chop the chocolate into smaller chip-like size. Other than that, this chocolate is fabulous! Enjoy!

Decent milk chocolate substitute
I gave it four stars because it's the best non dairy milk chocolate I've tried. Although I'm very Lactose intolerant I swore off oat, almond milk, coconut etc chocolate because they're just so bad. Not horrible, but not a substitute for real chocolate. This is the only one to get that snap and texture right. It still tastes chalky (a bit like those cheap foil wrapped chocolate Easter eggs everyone got as kids?) but it is a reasonable dupe for chocolate. For my vegans who can't stand dark chocolate, I highly recommend. It tastes better if it's warm (sat in the sun or by a warm drink) so I think it might melt well into a "sauce."

The absolute best dairy-free gluten-free chocolate out there
I've been gluten- and dairy-free for health reasons for almost a decade. I've tried all kinds of compliant chocolates and had a favorite one but then I bought Lovo and this is hands down my favorite of all time. It's got a silky smooth texture, like all Swiss chocolate, it's creamy and it has the taste of fine European chocolate that usually has a higher milk content than US chocolate. The coconut milk one is the only one I've tried because I can't have nuts or oats, but it's an absolute triumph. Even if you are not vegan or gluten- or dairy-free, you'll love this chocolate. High sugar content though, so indulge thoughtfully. I'd love to see a Lovo coconut milk dark chocolate.

Delicious
Each bar has its own taste and texture, but I enjoyed each! My husband is the chocolate eater of the house, but I did try each. He didn't complain either!

Hazelnut Bar
I asked if the hazelnut bar was similar to Ferrero Rocher? Someone managing their Instagram account said yes, but so much better. It was not even close flavor wise. It reminded me of milk chocolate easter candy. I can’t say that it was too sweet, but rather lacking any real flavor. It wasn’t horrible, but it was disappointing after getting such a buildup.I would be open to trying some of their other flavors, but I wasn’t wowed by this one. I follow a low-fat vegan diet, so when I cheat it really needs to be special.
