Outstanding performance
The landline phone system we had in our home worked fine however the problem was that we were constantly bombarded each day with Robo Calls and all kinds advertising and junk spam phone call that were just never ending and very annoying to say the least. I did quite a bit of research on Amazon on the new generation of phones that included anti spam technology and ultimately decided up this Panasonic phone system after going through all the product reviews. I also liked the fact that it was made by Panasonic. The phone system I was replacing was also Panasonic and had served us well for many years so I have faith in the brand. Setup and installation of the system was straight forward and easy enough and within 30 minutes I had the system up and running and set up. I did have to read the instructions in order to set up my preferred preferences (voice message, ring volume, spam settings, etc) but I found the instructions very clear and easy to follow. This phone allows you to sync it with your cellular phones, which is a really nice option, but I have no interest in this feature at the present time so I didn't bother with that, however I did read the instructions on how to do it and it didn't appear to be to complicated. I may utilize the cell phone feature later.. I found the system to be visually attractive and of quality construction and the best part of all is that from the minute I activated the system the spam phone calls immediately stopped. It was like a miracle We would receive no less that a dozen such annoying spam phone calls each day, sometimes two dozen. It's been 2 days now and we have not received even 1 such annoying call. My wife and I are thrilled to say the least and if a spam call does slip through somehow all we have to do is simply press the "Block" call button and the phone and that number will never be able to call us again. The system comes pre-programmed with an internal list of known spam callers and you can add your own numbers to that list if you need to simply by hitting the "Block" button. Doesn't get any easier than that. This is really a great system, I love it. Its spam blocking technology really works well and the amount of other features that the phone has is amazing. If you're looking to replace your older phone system in order to avoid those annoying spam calls just order this system.... you will be very happy you did.

Missing a critical blocking feature
It's a great phone system, but I really bought it for the blocking features and with the belief that it would stop "Unavailable" callers. Unfortunately it does not stop them all. They need to add a feature that allows you to block calls by name, not just numbers or area codes. This way I could enter "Unavailable" which is what I get calls from constantly.Aside from this it's a well designed and useful phone. It will at least block some spam, but it's unfortunate that Panasonic didn't consider the full range of methods that spammers use in different regions. They also really should have a way to update the firmware to add features like this as well as to keep their list of default blocked numbers up to date.I'm still giving it 4 stars as it's a good feature rich phone, but it's still not the spam killing phone it could be.

Very nice phone with lots of features
I bought this 5 handset phone to replace a similar, but very old, Panasonic 5 handset phone. I was happy with the old phone, but some of the old handsets started to fail (no screen or keytone) and could not be remedied with new batteries or other troubleshooting steps. So far, I'm very happy with this replacement. It was easy to install and setup. Of course, the 99 page manual is a bit daunting, but it is actually comprehensive and understandable. Keep it in a safe place since you may need to refer to it.Another reviewer mentioned they didn't like the wall mount. It does stick out a bit more than my old phone, but it's fine. I don't even notice the difference at this point. One initial oddity was that when an incoming call came in, I could hear a ring in the bedroom, but not elsewhere. The Panasonic phones rang on the second ring. Turns out that is a built in feature. It's supposed to delay on the first ring in order to screen "one ring" calls. It was an old conventional landline phone that rang on the first ring. I turned off the first ring block so all phones now ring on the first ring. It wasn't a big deal, just an oddity.I can't say for sure whether the 14,000 call block feature actually works. But I don't get many robocalls anyway. Some calls are identified by my provider as "spam risk", but I never answer those calls. I may start adding them to the "call block" feature, although that may get tedious. One annoyance: When listening to a recorded message on a handset (as opposed to the base unit), there is no "erase" option like on my old handsets. When the message is playing you have to hit "pause" and then "menu." That makes no sense. Fortunately, there is a key shortcut - *4 - you can hit to quickly erase the message.I have not used the cell-link feature. I'm not sure I see a need to answer my cell using a handset. However, I may try it out at a later time.Overall, I'm very happy with this Panasonic phone system and hope it lasts as long as my prior Panasonic phone.
