Absolutely Jaw Dropping! A Must See & A Future Classic
After skipping this one at the cinema based on some online reviews (big mistake) I bought this on Blu-Ray and watched it around four times the first week I had it!!!!! Fantastic, well made, well acted, well scripted, practical effects where possible, engaging and thought provoking story and themes, Interstellar will grow on people as the years go buy.Ok for all those people wondering if people only love this film because of Christopher Nolan............No lol. I am no great fan of Chris Nolan, I enjoyed Inception, the Batman stuff was ok, but only ok it hardly a masterpiece. The Dark Knight suffered from bad pacing and the end was cobbled together and rushed. Tried to fit too many things together and then cut the length. Dark Knight Rises was almost completely nonsensical.Interstellar on the other hand I honestly think will one day be held up alongside 2001: A Space Odyssey for it's deep themes, practical effects, and intellectual/heady content. Remember no-one liked 2001 when it came out either! My only complaint which is very nit-pickey was the love conquering all theme which I felt was shoe-horned in to appeal to a wider audience. It does work within the films context so it doesn't ruin it and I honestly think this film would never have been made without it so there we are. Also the beginning feels a little rushed, I would have loved this film to be an hour longer so that the beginning could have a been a bit slower and more believable. This is the fault of the current climate, they would never have gotten away with adding an hour to the length only freaks like me would sit through it!Another slight problem mentioned in the reviews is sound, yes Interstellar is quite hard to hear without being deafened when something big happens so you might have to spend some time getting volume adjusted before watching it all the way through. Or you'll have to keep a finger on the volume button! There seem to be a lot of people complaining about plot-holes and Science errors. Please ignore those people as they did not watch the film properly or are not up to date with current theoretical physics. Every, single, thing, that happens in the film is explained in the film, often multiple times for those too lazy to pay attention. The film can be completely understood in it's entirety watching it just once if you pay attention. Although you will get more from this film the more times you watch it.This is a movie, not a documentary, so you will be asked to suspend your disbelief for the duration but unlike other films which try to be this grand and fail miserably to deliver (looking at you Prometheus) this film succeeds in every way.Is this a perfect movie? Of course not there is no such thing but it's as close as you can get while still being a human. To get the most out of this film you will probably need to be interested in science, human nature, or sci-fi. If you like all three then "why have you not seen this yet?!"In conclusion, I wish it had been an hour longer, I was on the edge of my seat, jaw dropped as soon as Coop drove off in his truck all the way to the end. I simply could not believe a film of this nature COULD still be made and released today, most recent films consisting of "lots of stuff happens really fast, the end". I just hope it does really well because I would like to see more like it.Watch Interstellar, buy, buy, buy!

1 star reviews are a lie! This film is incredible!
This film is incredible! Some keep saying that the dialogue is 'terrible' etc. because of Zimmer's soundtrack over the top. I watched this film for the first time last summer with 5.1 surround in blu-ray, and i couldn't find a single fault with it! I'm only 17, so maybe my ears aren't so warn out like the FOOLS who rate it 1 star.Right from the beginning you can see that this film has been expertly directed and with incredible craftsmanship, both on and off camera.I would say that something which is added to the visual pleasure of watching this film is how Nolan has used seriously wide range of camera formats to film with, not only with digital, but with 70mm film and IMAX!If you have read reviews telling you that the story is completely ridiculous or laughable etc. it's literally because they can't understand it! This film is for people who love the idea of space, real space, and what might be out beyond us (as stated in the title 'Interstellar'). Despite this the film is not a documentary. The acting by all actors is flawless, the directing is incredible - so much so that by the end i was sad there wasn't another shot to look at.The music in my opinion is the best original score ever created for a film! And the special effects! Well all you have to do is watch the trailer! The science in the film makes you wonder, and even though people are saying that the theme of 'love' in this film doesn't work well in a sci-fi film... Well actually it works perfectly well, considering we know as much about 'love' as we do about space! - love being something that we all come across everyday in all kinds of forms (something we can all relate to). SPOILER: A man has been forced from his home to save the world, away from his kids... only to find out that the whole mission wasn't to find a new planet for the human race, but to research planets (meaning he will die in space). I think that 'love' SHOULD be a main focus point in this film, because i know for certain, that if i was thrown into space - probably to never see my family again - i'd be feeling pretty sad about that.............I recommend buying a blu-ray edition with extra features! 3 hours could never be enough for someone who likes this film! The sound is epic, as well as the overall aesthetics of the film, the acting, special effects, the writing and story, the science... Just the entire picture is brilliant! If you are thinking to upgrading your hi-fi system, this is the time to do it! This film will blow you away when you hear the first note come out of your speakers!Do not take any notice of the 1 star reviews!!!This is seriously one of, if not, the best film ever made in the history of cinema!
