Dell xps 15 - very nice
This Dell Xps 15 purchase is to replace an older XPS 13 (2019). This updated laptop is significantly faster, the screen is stunning and overall thus far I'm impressed with it. Previous xps models have had their various issues, but with the limited time I've used this system I haven't seen anything wrong with it. This is the 12gen i7 with 32gb ram - xps systems traditionally have their memory soldered as they aren't thick enough for a dimm slot, so I recommend buying one with however much memory you'll want from the start (as upgrading them afterwards usually isn't possible). Oh and with these newer Dell laptops - made for Windows 11,and while we tried to shoehorn W10 onto them previously, that is where you'll see performance issues and random problems (just my experience with the past two generations of Dell xps laptops). Lastly, if you use an older Dell usb-c dock, like the Wd-15, be aware you may have issues performing firmware updates for the dock from these newer laptops.

Don't Buy it Ever.
Don't but it. I ordered this. Once i got this, I turned this on and it got frozen and the screen displayed weird dots. So i had to return for refund. Then I ordered it again and got it today. It keeps crashing. The delivery was about 1 week. It is not a good product. I don't understand how Dell sells such trash.

Great customer service
A screw on Amazon's side was fixed by the seller without any hassle. Glad they were nice about it - will be buying from this seller again! As for the computer - it's a high end Windows PC. I use it for engineering software (VS Code, MATLAB, Fusion 360, EAGLE, and Arduino IDE) and only Fusion 360 gives this computer some trouble from time to time. However, Fusion has never "ran smoothly" on any of my PCs, so I think that's on Fusion.

Bad
The specs are great, and it really is a great laptop for running games and doing any other cpu intensive activities. The display is also pretty good, though the minimum brightness is still way to bright in my opinion. It's too bad I have never been able to enjoy any of these features fully for the two years that I've owned the thing. Straight out of the box, it had a multitude of problems. The wifi speed was abysmal, there were a bunch of programs and features that felt completely unnecessary and took up hard drive space and cpu usage, and the worst of all has been the sound issues. Never once has my sound been normal on it. I've wasted so many days of my and my support person's lives trying to fix these issues. We eventually got the wifi to work, and I deleted many of the useless programs like Mcafee. The sound was never fixed and each time we thought we fixed it, it would reveal to us that it was not actually fixed at all. I even sent it to the shop finally after really pushing it to my support guy, and they replaced some hardware. When I got it back, the auxiliary port just didn't work anymore. The sound through my speakers seemed to be clearer as if they fixed it, but today the same issues have returned once again to haunt me. The worst part is that dell diagnostics has never picked up any of these issues. What even is the point of asking me to run diagnostics 30 times and trying to reinstall drivers if it never works? Also, dell decided to have their own updater that directly conflicts with the Windows 11 built-in updater so that you have to pick and choose which updates are actually best for your pc. It's really stupid. I bought the premium warranty for extra too, and I have still not had a single day where this pc has worked properly for two years. They will not refund me or give me a replacement as it has been "too long" since I bought it. Guess I should've been more pushy at the beginning instead of trying to cooperate with them for years. I do not trust Dell anymore, and neither should you. You can't even leave a review on their website. So yeah anyways, don't buy it unless you don't care to spend a week of your time to get it semi-working (hopefully it'll stay that way for you)

I use this for architecture and at first it was lagging and crashing but i called dell tech support and they sent someone to my house to fix it! Ended up getting a whole new mother board for free!

Very nice
I love this laptop! Boots up and charges quickly and has face/fingerprint recognition which is a nice feature. It’s very light, the screen is crisp and bright, speakers are very loud and the backlit keyboard is nice. The trackpad is pretty sensitive so it can get a little annoying at times but nothing you can’t get used to. Comes in a nice box with a usb/sd reader attachment for the type c port. Overall very nice especially for school.

i used to love dell. now i despise dell.
laptop took 5x's as long to boot up as my 10yo dell laptop. tried upgrading ram with 3 different sets of ram and none of them would work. kept getting error codes. even online everyone says it is very hard to upgrade the ram. it rarely works in the xps's. dells tech support is a joke. best buy and their geek squad are terrible. all around terrible experience with both dell and best buy, and geek squad. now i am stuck with a laptop that the ram cannot be upgraded and dell does not stand behind their product. they also charge 5x's more for ram than anywhere else. they probably blocked all other ram from working, but their techs will tell you that it all works. it doesn't. these tech companies really are terrible.
