I use Eufy cameras at my primary home and vacation house too. I love their cameras so much that I have bought additional ones to get even better coverage. As long as you install the cameras in a spot where they get enough sun the solar recharge works great. The app even tells you how much charging the sun did. I have one camera that only gets sun until noon. Even that one recharges enough through most of the year, except in the winter when I have to bring it in to plug in to recharge every once in awhile, which is usually only after a few cloudy days. You can adjust the motion sensor’s sensitivity which is a great feature. You can also chose to alert only when a human is seen and the camera does a good job at discerning that, although one time a raccoon was in the cameras view and when it stood up on its hind legs the camera alerted me to a human and admittedly it did look like a furry toddler :-) In human only alert mode the camera will not alert to a car until the person gets out. I wanted both so I used the sensing area adjustment in the app to only alert to motion and human right in front of my garage. This worked well, I don’t get false alarms from cars on the street and with the motion sensitivity turns down a bit I don’t get alerts about birds, squirrels, etc. The infrared works great, with the IR led lights illuminating a large area at night, just know that there is some visible red spectrum in those led lights so people will know the camera has spotted them at night. I wanted to try one as a critter cam and I experimented with covering the led lights with duct tape and it still worked, but at a very degraded level. If you were using it in a spot that had street or house lights it might be good enough to use it with the led lights covered to alert you. However, it is so good with them uncovered you will probably want to see all the detail in night time captures. The microphone on the camera works very well. It also has a speaker on the camera and the app allows me to talk to whoever the camera is seeing. I’ve used that a few times and the person heard me clearly. Eufy is now selling higher resolution cameras, but still sells these models. They are almost half the price of the newer Eufy models sold on Amazon. I find the 2k resolution is plenty for my needs. It is high enough that I can read the name on trucks. It is not quite high enough to read a license plate, but you can mostly make out the numbers. I haven’t tried one of the newer models so I can’t compare. I also love that I don’t need to have a subscription or go to the cloud to look at the videos. I did not get a HomeBase that is compatible with the the S220 so I use each camera as its own storage device and that has worked fine. If it records something I want to not have overwritten I just save it to my phone, like the time a delivery driver, not Amazon, threw a package on my front steps from about ten feet away! Even the camera that is over 150 feet from my WiFi switcher connects fine. Occasionally when I go back to events to watch a video again the app seems to have forgotten it, but refreshing typically fixes that. Overall I highly recommend Eufy cameras, I also use their doorbell cameras and love those too.

So happy with this camera. Gives very clear picture & sound on camera! Even at night. Very easy to install & set up on phone. Be sure to charge in sun & with usb cable before mounting. Gives you a message when completely charged. Like that there is no monthly charge nor have to connect to a home base. Works perfectly in stand alone mode. Considering buying another one for my backyard. This one I installed for garage and driveway since there have been many car thefts & breakins in my neighborhood. Highly recommend.

The camera has been simple to set up and works well for keeping an eye on the outside of our home. The picture quality is clear, and the wireless design makes it easy to place without dealing with extra cords. We purchased the additional solar panels to give the camera better solar coverage, especially in areas that do not get direct sunlight all day. That has made the setup more reliable and helps reduce how often we need to worry about charging it. The camera feels sturdy, the app is easy to use, and overall we are happy with it.

I've always been a Nest Camera user but ever since being acquired by Google the Nest products (thermostat, CO/Smoke detectors, Cameras) have gotten glitchy and not worth their prices. I have two Nest camera fail after a year and sudden issues with their smoke detectors not connecting to wifi. I came across Eufy and was initially looking at their 4K solar cameras with Homebase 3 but came across a deal on the Eufy S220 Solo for only $100 a camera. The S220 is a good looking, completely wireless, wifi, solar charging, 2K camera. The camera records short clips when motion is detected or you can view a live image via the app. The camera does not record continuously. Set up was really simple. You should charge the camera via it's included USB cable as you download the Eufy App and begin setting up the cameras prior to mounting them. Make sure you have a strong wifi signal where you plan to mount the camera and direct sun for charging. My cameras have always remained fully charged with just a few hours of direct sunlight daily (the app shows charging and charge level) The wall mount is mostly plastic and only allows a front facing camera mount with the ability to angle up/down/left/right. Too bad they don't include other mounting options or an extension if you need to mount around a corner. You cannot angle the camera a full 90 degree. But you can buy other mounting options from 3rd party. So far I've had no issues with the cameras or mounts under direct sun. Temperatures have gotten over 90F and I have no issues. It has not rained recently, but I don't think it would be a problem I have a wifi mesh network which provides a strong 2.4 ghz signal for the cameras. They do not connect to 5 ghz. I am able to connect to the app (wifi or cellular) and view a live image almost instantaneously once the app is launched and camera selected. I wish the app provides a current updated image of all the cameras once you launch the app. It doesn't have to be a live feed, but a current clip would update you on the status of each camera. Instead you have to launch each camera to get a live view otherwise it's the last image you viewed. (You can pull down on the screen to refresh all the camera's to get the last captured image) If you have the app on multiple devices like a phone and tablet. Each device is independent. What you view on one device doesn't update on the other devices. This is good if there are multiple users and not just one individual as each user won't miss anything. The cameras provide a good daytime image and it's night time (black and white) image is good too. You are able to zoom in on the images to get closer details and you download the images from the app. If you have enough ambient lighting you might be able to leave the cameras in full color mode and not use the black and white night mode. Eufy makes an S230 Solo which adds an LED spotlight to the S220. I chose not to pay the extra for that feature as I get enough ambient lighting around my home to not need it. All images are kept locally on each camera so if they are stolen or fail, you'll loose all your images. You can purchase a Homebase 3 which is like a network drive that needs to connect directly to your router. You will then be able to expand the storage and all images will be stored on the Homebase inside your home. The older images get overwritten with the new images when the internal memory is full. I don't have a Homebase so I don't know how well the additional AI features like facial recognition work. But the S220 by themselves miss a lot of images when people or cars pass directly towards the camera. They seem to do better when objects move laterally left and right. I have images of people or cars either approaching and never leaving or leaving but never a record of them approaching. Ironically the cameras will sometimes record birds flying into the detection zone or the movement of trees and plants. You are able to setup a detection zone as well as block off areas that you don't want recorded. I guess you get what you pay for. This is a solar charging camera that provides a very good image and decent app for only $129. I would not use them as your main security needs. Eventhough I hate the image quality and recent glitchy issues with Google Nest cameras. I've never had a problem with the Nest Camera's failing to record when an object moved into their view. The Eufy however, misses many recordings. I hope it's a software issue that they can address with firmware updates to an otherwise really nice camera. Having a built in solar panel is a game changer for ease of installation. I am happy with my cameras even tho they are not perfect. After my initial purchase, I purchased an additional camera when they went on sale.

Short form: Don't buy these; yes, they're cheap. But they're cheap for a reason! Update: After Eufy's latest update the camera show "online" but aren't recording and can't view live feeds. Plus there's no restart option in the software, so my only option will to be get out the ladder and do a full reset on them. Cheap construction, worse software. Update (again): Even with a custom power profile with recordings set to 60 seconds and ‘end clip early if no motion is detected.’ These cameras still recorded just 17 seconds of a car leaving my driveway. Between the nighttime ghosting and the awful motion detection, these might be the most useless ‘security’ cameras ever. Update: The ghosting in the night recordings is out of control. Half the time it looks like translucent blobs drifting across the screen. And that’s assuming it even detects the movement in the first place. At this point it would honestly work better if the unit, or at least the home base if it’s connected to one, compared differences between video frames instead of relying on its weak and inconsistent motion sensor. Updated: These things couldn’t get any worse. Even when connected to a HomeBase S380, you still can’t separate detection and recording from notifications. I mean, yes I want it to record every bit of movement. But I don’t need it to notify me every single time. Eufy products are such a letdown in the end. Updated: Unless you’re fine with your camera(s) going offline and missing important events, you’ve got three options. First, buy another brand that actually does what it claims. Second, get an external solar panel (a few bucks) that isn’t made by Eufy. I’m using a 6W third-party one that charges even on cloudy days **unlike** the built-in panel, which claims it’s charging while still losing 10% a day. Third, set the camera to its lowest quality and shortest recording time, point the built-in solar panel straight at the sun, and pray it only records one event a day. Orginal: Poor "solar" panel, worse detection range. The solar panels are pointes at the sun, with zero instructions, and over 9 hrs of sun light. It's still not enough to charge the cameras up, even after 3 days. Which means, they'll be dead after the first snow fall and a paperweight for the rest of the winder. I got the detection set all the way up to seven and it still can't even see a quarter the way down the driveway. We checked and rechecked the angles, tried to measure out the distance and we're getting nowhere near even 20 ft. These cameras are extraordinarily slow to access, and even slower to be able to recall older events. Well the camera does have an okay lens on it with a wide view. That view is useless if it can't actually record anything do you do such poor detection ranges. You literally need to put this camera directly on top of something and have it pointed at it within 10 ft for to do anything reliably. And the whole motion test option inside the app is pointless. Because emotion test you can get almost 50 ft away and did a report motion by changing the LED. But even after that doesn't detect anything. Then there's the whole fact that UV products are actually cloud dependent. They may store all your data locally but they require the app on the phone and authentication by Eufy servers in order to login. Which means if you ever has a problem with the app or their servers your cameras are absolutely useless for viewing video on. And while they have a web portal that you can use it's a web portal that's on their services that link back to your house. Which still requires the internet and their service to be up to make use of your equipment. This is the worst version of cloud dependency possible all of the data is right there at your fingertips but you can do nothing with it if something along the internet is having a problem.

The Eufy S220 is an amazing camera! I've had it for one week now and so far I'm satisfied with it! I already had the Eufy security App installed on my phone before receiving the camera as I've been using a Eufy Indoor camera already, so adding this camera to the App was a cinch! There were no glitches when connecting to my home Wi-fi and it only took about 5 minutes to mount it on the side of the roof. The mount only requires 2 screws and then attach to the mount. The video quality during the daytime is crystal clear and the night vision is impressive. Videos at night look as if it is dawn outside. When you put the motion settings to high, it will catch just about everything even at 20 feet. The camera doesn't seem to miss any motions! There is a motion setting that allows you to "catch all motions", but I would not recommend this as the camera will really catch all movements and even small insects thus setting off notifications constantly!...You can customize the motion settings by selecting specific areas to protect and you can also block out certain areas of the videos for your neighbors privacy...I only want to use the camera for video purposes and not so much the audio...Upon testing the audio, sounds captured by the camera itself and through my cellphone did sound a little muffled but you can still understand the words. And when I tested the audio spoken from the cellphone and through the camera's speaker, it did sound a little muffled but still understandable...However this is not a major issue for me as I only really needed this camera just for the video. The solar charging is great, and goes up to 100% during sunny days and at night the battery level has only dropped to 80%...I am using the camera in Las Vegas under 100 degrees F, so I'm impressed that it works flawlessly under the high temperature! When viewing the live feed on the app, it is pretty quick and snappy and viewing the all the events is a breeze! The alerts come in fast and notifies you with the text "Someone has been spotted" and you can choose customize notification sounds too...The UI on the app is awesome and user friendly...Saving recorded videos as well as snapshots to your phone can be done with just the touch of a button. You can turn the camera off and on with just one swipe and also if you need to restart the device...The camera has only disconnected and went offline a few times from the Wi-Fi connection, but it is a normal occurrence with any camera...But it does get back online very fast and seems the Wi-Fi connection is very solid and reliable...As far as the overall design of the camera, I think it's one of the best. To have the solar panel built right in make this camera look sleek and clean. This design makes those cameras that have a separate wired solar panel look out of date! I think the built in solar panel design should be the standard for all security camera companies to follow...Having this outdoor camera as well as an indoor camera makes me feel as if I have a high end security camera setup. And why spend more money if these cameras work just as well and perhaps better as the more expensive ones out there. I love the fact that I do not have to pay for any type of subscription to view my videos and I think it is great that Anker mentions this on their ad descriptions. The Anker company has to be one of the best security cameras out right now! I think I have found the security cameras that I will use for a lifetime and it is Eufy security cameras...And as always, Amazon delivered this quickly and well packaged. 5 stars upon 5 stars!!!

Eufy makes great cameras. It just works 100% of time. Worth noting, with these cameras, right upon installation, the camera won’t solar charge until it drops to about 90% - and then it will pick up and charge to full and continue as expected.

I purchased the Wireless Camera Outdoor it has 2K Resolution, I t has Continuous Power, Built-in 8GB, No Subscription fees excellent for Outdoor Surveillance. The only issue for me is that you will get a lot of notifications and for me when I set to humans only then I am getting no notifications but the pictures are always clear and the nighttime light is always good for the photos. The instructions are very simple and easy to install great quality for the price. Just wish I could adjust the settings so I don’t have so many notifications.

So far so good....I've been running the C210 non solar edition for a few years, so thought I'd add one of these to the collection. I don't run them continuously, but when they run, they run at the same time. Only been a few weeks, but the C210 is at 53% battery and the S220 is at 98%, so I'm impressed. Haven't had any issue with battery charge levels at all. Picture quality is as stated, and the mount it and forget it aspect of this camera is nice! Winter may tell a different story, but I still expect to have to charge it much less that the non-solar version.
