Festool576848 Cordless Sliding Compound Miter Saw KAPEX KSC 60 EB-Basic

Im treated myself to this saw, had a cheapo harbor frieght..this is levels above that. No regrets. Dust extraction is probably 90%.

I replaced an older Kapex 120 with this cordless model.It obviously has a few minor limitations over the larger 10" blade, but being extremely portable is very nice and is the main reason for the switch. It's very light in weight and has no lack of power.I love the dust collection hooked up with my Festool vac. I have the CT36 vac and added the Festool blue tooth module in the vac, it works perfectly with the saw, the saw triggers the vac every time.I just did a kitchen remodel with most cuts being done inside the home, and the dust collection is fantastic, after cutting for hours very little dust ended up on the floor below the saw, they were larger easy to clean up particles more than dust.The saw has enough power to cut 2" birch very easily, have not tried anything harder but have no doubt it can handle it with ease. I also appreciate the variable speed motor like the Kapex 120 I had. I added a slightly taller back fence and cut 3-5/8" pre primed crown no problem nested against the fence by using the back of the blade rather than sliding through the cut. The LED cut line is accurate similar to my Dewalt 12", great for lining up cuts.The cut quality and dust collection is where this saw shines, along with it's light weight and being cordless. I added the fine tooth Festool blade and the cuts are very smooth indeed.All in all this is a well built accurate saw.

This saw is an absolute BEAST! I sell these saws because we're a dealer but we have a display model that I use all the time to cut wood and it's incredible! especially once you get it all kitted out with a Festool dust extractor. A bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for and the 3 year warranty that Festool has on their products is the best on the market. The battery life is great on this saw and I highly recommend it. GREAT JOB FESTOOL!
