Nero 2017 Platinum (PC)

I needed a burning software to, A) burn disc's for playing in my car. B) To convert my Existing music from wave to mp3. This does this with ease, very quick, and can be saved where ever you want on the computer, so if you want to make a USB stick you can send to the computer and down load to whatever you want to. At first it was a little confusing but I soon found my way around, it does give you an how to videos, so if you do get stuck or confused this will help. I tried making a short slide show to see what this was like, and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy, and fast, to create a good looking slide show. I have not tried video editing but would assume that this would be easy to use as well. Overall a good product for the money, it does offer a lot of things as stated on the box, some of which I have not used at this time, but as I own a tablet may come in handy.

Firstly, I must say I'm writing this review based entirely on the Nero video application in this package and not based on the other applications and features of the package as I've not tried them yet.I bought this to complement WindowsMovie Maker which I use a lot and I must say Nero 17 Platinum is a very worthy addition to my video editing tools.Prior experience with video editing software would be an advantage before using this software as there's no manual or PDF to explain how to use the software and this could be daunting for the beginner. I found YouTube tutorials on Nero 17 most helpful for getting the most from the software.The software contains a lot of transitions and effects to use with your creations. Along with themes, text effects, fonts, music etc this software really does offer a lot for a very affordable price. My favourite is the Picture In Picture effect which I've used a lot in my creations ( see the screenshot ).For me, this as been money well spent.

I bought the package for a big slideshow project. During the summer I had constructions ongoing at my house for 72 days. During that time I made zillions of photos and some 4k videos with my iPhone 6S. I owned an older version of Nero Platinum but this couldn't handle the 4k videos so I decided to get the new one. Installation was finished in a couple of minutes on my Surface 4 Pro. I also installed the Nero KnowHow app on Windows 10 and from that I learned about the all new MediaHome Wifi Sync app for my iPhone. Nero MediaHome found the app on the phone immediately and I decided to transfer all photos/videos to the PC. This took around 20 minutes. Afterwards I used MediaHome to mark the best photos and videos and to create the slideshow. The result that Nero MediaHome provided was already nice however I decided to spend a bit more time to weak the project in Nero Video. The handover worked smoothly an I spend another 2 hours to apply a nice background behind the portrait photos and to do text inserts day 1,2,....72. Afterwards I exported the project as a 4k AVC file an watched it in Nero MediaHome on the Surface's 3k display. I got the whole thing done in one afternoon (including the install) and I was really amazed on how everything played together so well.

After buying a new PC I needed some software for burning GoPro videos to Blu-Ray, this seemed to fit the bill. Although more expensive than most other online downloads, I wanted something I could trust would work as I have used Nero products in the past.You get a lot for the money bags of software from making CD's and DVD to Bu-Ray including 4K, lots of conversion software so you can put videos onto devices like phones and Ipads etc.Used it a few times perfect DVD data back up's but when I used the Blu -Ray movie maker it worked fine in the PC but in two other home players the picture paused and sound continued in the same spot and with another disc burned. that's the reason it has only four stars.

Nice software but needs to have a manual to help understand how to use everything thing..

I've been working with Nero since 2011. I got it to prepare DVD's for the Police to catch the parasitic shoplifters that come into my shops and have been using it ever since. It has got easier and easier to use as it has gone on and now I can import, edit and burn in minutes.There are lots of additional tools that come with it as opposed to just video authoring tools and I really need to get round to looking into them more.I could have bought this online and downloaded it from the manufacturer but I got it cheaper and in DVD format on here and I have always found that as I get new computers or have issues with the one I have, it's always better to have a hard copy to install from.

Didn't realise that although it is a one time licence that it is for ONE computer only!

I have had nothing but problems from this program, it doesn't run properly and make sure you download a zip file which doesn't work. I have returned mine to Amazon for a refund. This is very unusual for Nero as they usually a good company. You will find they you a link to rectify any problems which is FirstAid something or other the control centre didn't work and after loads of trying to get this fixed I asked for a refund and got it from AmazonI think Nero have overstepped the mark here which is unusual as I have always thought of them as a solid company with good products You will have an awful job getting their software off and I ended up doing a complete reinstall.
