Feels Like Having a Real Safari Expert in My Backpack!
I am a 15-year-old wildlife enthusiast, and this is hands-down the best book I own. If you love Indian wildlife, you need this on your shelf or in your backpack. It makes learning about animals incredibly fun and easy, without feeling like a boring school textbook

A perfect field guide for Indian mammals, Handy and covers most important points about the species. This book is suggested by many organisations like WTI. Got this book after a forest ranger suggested me this book while we were in jungle.

Amazing and complete informative book on mammals in India. The first 50 odd pages of comphrensive information regarding mammals is thoughtfully written and serves inspirational guide to budding naturalist. Each mammals types are separated with related species names and information grouped properly like primates, carnivores, bats, etc. The Field notes are also wonderfully selected and enjoyable read. The book is all colour and so the price is surprisingly very low in comparison. The photos selected are all very good. The index at the end also doubles up as a life list. This is a must have book for all those who like wildlife and can start working towards if they are interested with all the information on this book as first stepping stone. Has everything required to start their journey in understanding wildlife that would covering all the known 400+ species of India. And India has about 9% of all known species in the world. My best buy so far for my 5 year and 7 year old kids
The look of it makes one feel like itโs meant for adult. It indeed is for the reading level but My kids love this book too. I read to them and they enjoy all the mammal varieties in India. My son wanted more than just โlion tiger deerโ and specifically Indian animals. When I searched Indian mammal books for kids there was hardly any.I went through the sample and found it likeable even for a child because it came with pictures and believe me itโs a hit with my kids. They love it and more so because of the picture. I read out for them and they enjoy the content too. My favourite part is the local names for the species.Worth the price for the content and the photos!

Not what I was expecting, but is a great guide. Almost a textbook with detailed information presented in an easily understood format. Not for younger readers and I wish the photos were larger.
