Active Aqua Submersible Water Pump, 400 GPH, Magnetic Drive, Hydroponic

bought one of these for a hydro garden project - worked great out of the box, easy setup, great flow as advertised! Had an issue after a few weeks of service, took it apart and the impeller had failed and broken ( appeared to be a manufacture defect in the impeller not an actual fault in the overall pump or design. Filled out a support ticket and not only a fast response, but a solution to my issue was shipped out and arrived in days! thanks so much Hydrofarm for standing behind your product. Ordered another pump as a back/ready for my next project!

I'm using this in a diy aeroponics set up. It's been running 24/7 for 30 days and is running at a consistent rate. The noise level is not annoying, however, I keep the door shut to the room the unit is in. (Cats don't eat lettuce, but sure enjoy shredding it. 😳) I'm also using the overpriced filter bag as an added level of protection should there be any stray solid matter in the water.

I bought this pump for in line use home made aquarium gravel vacuum. At first it stopped working, found the impeller bushing was jammed. Easy fix, however, I should have brought the 550 gph model. Seems there isn't enough power for my needs. Otherwise it seems well built but have to question the water flow rating. I would recommend going with the next higher rated pump and installing a ball valve in order to adjust water flow if needed. I can't comment on longevity due to my short term use.

I have been very pleased with this lump for my tower garden. It pushes water straight up about 4 ft with no issues and I believe it could go much higher if needed. It is not super quiet, as it has a vibration to it, but that is not an issue for me as this is located away from a common area anyway. Good product at a good price!! I would recommend this.

It works well so far and has been running non stop since 2 days after coming in. As long as it remained fully submerged it works well, I sometimes let it go a little low and the pressure starts to drop but that is rectified when I ass more water. I will update if anything happens over time Update: after 6 months the thing broke. Sadly I missed the warranty time because I didn't use it right away 6 months of use and it does, not worth it.

Customer service 5 star too! Mine come in the mail and it wouldn’t start up correctly I emailed the seller and asked them. No problem. Next day I had a new one! I was shocked. New pump works grate just like the last one but I don’t have to take it apart to make it work. Have any problems just email them.

I bought 2 of these to use in low pressure aeroponics systems and they are both extremely noisy. They seem to work fine, but they sound like they're about to burn out. They sound that way even when they're pumping pure distilled water. I checked them and all fittings are tight, and everything is perfectly clean. I hate to have to replace them, but I'm just waiting for the day they fail.

Oh, yeah...this pump has worked out great! Real powerful at full blast, but manageable with the dial. Been using it for well over a year. I researched water pumps online and went with this one. I'v cleaned my water fdeature several times, this pump has survived. It's only noisy if it's up against something and vibrating, not the pumps fault.

Worked for 10 seconds then dead this is not a good pump for inline use.

Bought this to help me do water changes on my 65 gal tank. I got some 3/4 inch pond hose, heated the end of the hose, stuck it on and off I went. This pump has no trouble pushing water the 30 foot hose length. Good flow, matter of fact the washbasin water supply couldn't keep up so I used a voltage regulator to slow down the pump. It runs silent. I can't find any negatives about this pump.

Works well, quiet. I have it on a timer 15 seconds on and 5 minutes off. ran it for 3 months no problems. I'd say it is not powerful enough for a tote aeroponic system. I have a 102L tote with PVS pipes and about 16 180 degree plastic sprinklers. the pressure does not create a fine mist. I'd suggest the 800GPH.

Worked well for about 2 weeks where it was nice and quiet. Within 2 weeks its already rattling like crazy. Maybe good for outdoor pond/waterfall but not indoor hydroponics like advertised. I thought I would try this brand as it seemed to be a better build than the other generic stuff, guess it isnt. Update 08/03. Pump has failed, and is not able to lift water to my hydro setup which it has been capable of doing for months. lasted 8 months.
