No instructions, but once I figured it out, worked great
I cut 42 long 5/16x18 threads on rod ends before bending rods to spec. Used a few drops of cutting oil for each one. Worked perfect in my lathe.

1/4" to 1/2" tap holder frozen out of the box
1/4" to 1/2" tap holder was frozen out of the box. used the supplied handle to try to release (unscrew) the chuck but the metal was so soft the handle pulled out of the holder body. the set screw put dents into the tap holder. waiting on the vendor to see if they will send good parts or if I return the set.Update: I used heat, 6" wilton and a 32 inch pipe wrench and got it free. The side handle is still trashed but I was able to cut some threads tonight. there is a little slop but the tool will do what I spent my money for. I am going to keep the tool and use it until I can't.

Poor quality
Tap holder arrived with mangled threads preventing the jaws from closing. Items received also did not match the photos. Disappointed with this purchase.

Ordered a MT 1 got an MT 2
This is low quality and very low precision, not happy.

Handle breaks out of body
Works well if you don’t need the handle ( I do). Other than having to use another device to hold body it’s great

Great tool for thread cutting
Well thought-out design. Good machining. The only thing I am disappointed with is that there was some surface rust on some of the parts that I received, despite being packaged in oil. Otherwise, I actually really like the design. I don’t regret this purchase. Would probably purchase again.

Terrific tap + die holder with some caveats
So far I'm really loving this sliding tap + die holder, especially for the asking price... pretty hard to beat considering a basic sliding die holder from LMS costs just as much. The die holder slides well on the tang, and the MT2 tang fits my MT2 tailstock quite well. The machining on the handle is great. The tap holders are fine, but I find it challenging to get a tap squarely and securely held - you can get it very straight, but it would be a pain if you had to swap them often. I'll probably stick to my tailstock jacobs chuck for tapping. I needed the largest as well as the mid-size die-holders, so I was pleased to see that those were included in this set. The fit and finish on everything is pretty good. The reason I'm deducting a star is because the grub screws that hold the dies are basically all in the wrong spot - if you need to very securely hold your dies for threading metal, I doubt this would do the job (I do softer plastics and ebonite). There are three on the top, and none on the bottom - this means you can't adjust the location of the die relative to center, and there's a bit of slop relative to the size of the die. The three on the top don't really line up with anything in my dies, so I basically use the center one and pin the die in place with the other two - again, with plastics this is fine. Additionally, the grub screws are off-center... so not only is the die out of plane when you set the die in it, but you can't easily reverse the die to chase your threads.I gave it 4 stars because all of the issues with the die holder can be solved with CA glue and brass shim stock - I basically shimmed them until they appeared to spin true and centered when on the tang, but not so tightly that i can't easily swap them out for other dies. The tap-holders would be a solid 3/5.Overall it's really hard to beat for the price, and once you shim it it works great. the seller kindly refunded my shipping payment when it was clear that it was going to take much longer than my shipping estimate, so that was also much appreciated!

Good value
The good: - Dimentions are accurate and fit is good. It's simple enough that not much can go wrong - The MT2 taper holds tight and releases without fussing - Everything is dead square and runs true, making thread cutting with dies and taps nice and easyThe not-so-good: - The steel is somewhat soft, which leaves questions to the longevity of the tool if you cut large threads with it - The handle uses small coarse threads which tore out the first time I used a 1/2-20 die in the threading guide. I fixed it by re-tapping the handle in a larger fine thread.Overall would recommend, It's good enough that making your own might not be worth the hassle.
