These filters have the same issue as the original filters for the Freezimer ice maker. When the water is filled, at random times, water does not come through the filter. I can fill the water reservoir, and the ice maker would stop giving me an "add water" error because the water did not flow through to the lower chamber of the reservoir. When this happens, I have to run the filter under running water from the tap and then refill the reservoir.When the water is able to pass through the filter, the water does get filtered. The TDS meter shows 224 to 145. It's really nothing significant but better than nothing, I guess. I don't have an alkalinity tester, so I can't speak to that. I had hoped Freezimer would have fixed the water flow issue that had plagued their past filters, but alas, they have not.
