Every time I look at a new item I want to purchase I always look at the ratings but I look at the lowest ratings and it seems that everyone says the same thing about every item. Don't buy it, it's this it's that blah blah blah.Everybody complain that this laptop stand was hard to open and maneuver. Isn't that a good thing? At least you know it's got tension to it and it's going to hold your laptop. Sure it takes a little force and strength to open and adjust but at least I'm guessing it's going to keep its tension a long time.Here's the problem I have and it's not with the item. I have a Dell Inspiron 15-in which is 17.3 diagonally. This laptop stand holds it very well and grips the surface very well. It doesn't tip over or anything. The problem I have is that my laptop is too big for this. When I open it it seems like it wants to flip backwards off the workspace. But I don't blame the stand I blame my big laptop. This would be good for a smaller laptop.But I am not sending it back and I'll tell you why. It's made so well and it's so strong that I'd be foolish to send it back. What I did is I put a few velcro strips on the bottom of my laptop and a few velcro strips on the top of the stand. When I place my laptop on it it holds on to the stand perfectly and it's strong and doesn't want to flip backwards. I will provide some pictures. For the price I pay for this like I said I'd be foolish to send it back because it's so well made. I have to laptops that are identical and I'm going to purchase another one for that other laptop.So if you want my advice use a smaller laptop or do what I did and just buy some Velcro which is cheap and do what I did. I can still take the laptop off and put a different one on with no problem.If you look at the pictures I provided I used Velcro on both surfaces. They line up perfectly and there's a stronghold. I can shake my desk or table and it's not going anywhere. Thanks

This laptop stand is of very good quality. It has a good weight to it and the angle stays in place. I can raise my laptop as high as I want and it still feels very stable. I bought one prior to this which was also good but at this price point you get the best bang for your buck!

Perfect for me. Strong and stable for my laptop. Quality feel and solid position hold. I will likely get this for another laptop and music making equipment.

Great lap top stand. So easy to adjust and set up how I want. Works better than I thought it would. 10/10 would recommend if you need to elevate your lap top or use as a second screen.
