Superb TV for the price, Roku software is great for a bedroom TV.
I bought this TV for the bedroom and initially looked at similar 32" TVs from other brands, Sharp, JVC, Hisense, LG etc. I went to a local TV retailer and saw this TCL TV alongside the others and the picture was noticeably better, I then saw this was a 1080P screen whereas the others are 720P. I wanted the Roku version specifically as we have a Roku on our main TV and we are familiar with it. The local store only had the Amazon Fire version of this TV so ironically I ended up buying the Roku version instead from Amazon! The 1080P screen is excellent, and is noticeably much better than the other 720P screens on offer. Initially it looked a little dull but I realised that was because it was set to 'Power saving' mode by default. Once set to one of the other modes (there is movie, sport, auto etc) it looks perfect. The viewing angle is fine for our use and the contrast from blacks to bright scenes is more than adequate. The sound is, again, more than good enough. We have it set to 22 (out of presumably 100?) and it is loud enough without any distortion. It doesn't have huge bass which is to be expected but it also doesn't sound noticeably tinny to the point that I feel I should get a soundbar even when watching films. Of course, if this was the main TV in the lounge then it would perhaps need some more punch. You can fit a soundbar either though an optical connection or using the HDMI (Arc) port on the TV. It seems it will sync powering everything on with the one remote which is nice. The Roku software is very good. We have a Roku on our main TV and when setting this one up I just put in my Roku login details and it configured everything the same as the main Roku. All my channels were automatically installed and configured so I could just use this new TV exactly the same way as the other one. One of the other reasons I wanted the Roku software on this TV was that you can use the Roku app on your mobile phone to control the TV and you can also use headphones paired with your phone to listen to the TV. This is perfect for a bedroom TV where you might want to watch later in the evening and use headphones to keep the noise down. I don't think the other TV operating systems offer this feature so that steered me to Roku.Having the Roku software built-in to the TV along with decent enough sound through the speakers means I can run this TV with just the power cable out the back - no other wires, boxes etc cluttering-up the place. This is very nice in the bedroom where you don't want loads of tech paraphernalia.TCL seem to be a reasonably good brand when compared to the other options at this price point. If I was getting a 65" OLED then I would perhaps look at LG, Sony etc but for a 32" TV they seem to be ticking all the boxes. The screen is better than the other brands I looked at, the sound is more than good enough unless you want huge room-filling bass, the reliability of TCL seems to be better than many other big brands from the research I did, the price is less than a lot of the other options as well. It comes with a 2 year warranty which is enough for me. At this price if it dies after the 2 years I would still consider it a worthwhile purchase - although I do not expect that to happen judging by the reviews and technical assessments I have seen online. All in all, I would highly recommend this TV especially for a bedroom or if you want to use headphones while watching.

Great value
Since getting this TCL, it’s been easier to switch between my Xbox Series S and my PlayStation 5. Setup wasn’t too slow, picture quality is just insane when you beef the colour up. For a heavy gamer like me, it’s actually less of an issue for me, to enjoy my usual games and even have the Roku app on my phone, made it faster for me to even use the TV, without the remote being in my hand. For the price I paid, it’s £200 cheaper than my old Android TV I had for over 5 years.

Happy with the TV considering the price. But......
First of all this is a budget TV, once you set your expectations you will find the TV is really good, Picture and sound are good for the price. The sound can be adjusted which improves things and makes it less tinny. The Roku edition has Freeview for live TV and all the UK on demand apps, BBC iPlayer, ITVx, Channel 4 and 5 etc. It seems most of the negative reviews relate to the Android TV model which is more limited when it comes to apps for the UK market.Beware the Roku model (maybe others) does not have Bluetooth or Ethernet despite this being listed in the description. You will need to use WIFI for network connection and optical / HDMI arc or 3.5mm jack for audio.Roku is very responsive, no delay in opening apps or changing channels. Would have given 5 stars if the description on Amazon was to be corrected.

Avoid TCL. It's not worth it....
I bought the 32in TV based on excellent customer review and Amazon choice for the price. Within 2 months, the remote was playing up, and within 10 months the TV image had been replaced by this freaky repeating graphic (see pictures), completely unresponsive to anything I did.Still within the 2 year warranty, it took a while to track down how to contact them, and thus began the single most unpleasant, unreasonable, disagreeable customer disservice experience of my life with their third party "repair" partners Equinox Maintenance Ltd. - a more petulant, rude, shoddy company I have yet to experience who are incapable of apologising. TCL will apologise, but seem to be at Equinox's mercy, as they will not extend any protection from their brutish handling or refusal to accept wrongdoing of any kind on their part - like sending my TV back without it's feet, or sending the feet without any instructions or screw fittings, or then sending more feet with screws, but still no I structuins, despite the feet being angled.First of all, they want you to use an upload platform called elyseo, but provide no link or explanation as to what ot is or where to find it. Eventually, as they obviously had no idea what the problem was, an I told them I had an mp4 file which best showed the problem, they eventually provided an email address!Equinox initially insisted the repair had to be done in my home, after TCL had first assured me the TV would be collected for repair. I had to fight for it to be conducted elsewhere for my convenience and I had a feeling it would not be an easy fix. They failed to keep their word when promising to make contact. The engineer who was supposed to collect the TV was so resentful, he cut his warning ETA phone call off after less than one ring, turned up at the house half an hour later, rang the doorbell ONCE and left before I could open the door! Even though I had not been told this is how the collection would proceed, I called the missed call number and he still didn't pick up! With my suspicions high, I emailed Equinox after 6pm came and went and I realised what must have happened. They insisted that their employee tried to collect the TV and implied it was somehow my fault that it had failed! They would not concede an inch that their engineer had been even a little unreasonable. I. Was. Flabbergasted!!! Their customer services argued this back and forth for 2 or 3 days! They then refused to tell me what was wrong with the TV, refuse to send me a repair invoice or summary - it's something 'they don't do' and they wouldn't send an engineer to reattach the feet to my TV, even though it would need to be a tricky manipulation and I said I didn't want to risk the 1 remaining year of the warranty. When I asked about the guarantee for the repair work, Equinox said they couldn't comment, and that it lay with TCL. Again, I was stunned. This is unheard of.But, their answer was even more worrying. TCL eventually told me that they had to REPLACE THE ENTIRE MIND BOARD and update the software, so it was practically a brand new TV.They said that the work was ONLY GUARANTEED FOR 90 DAYS!!!!I bought this TV for Mother's Day 2022, as a stop-gap, but I cannot, in good conscience recommend it in any way, even for a cheap and cheerful TV. You got this one wrong, Amazon! Really wrong!
