I was going to get a portable DVD player, but thought I try this option 1st. Glad I did, this is a nice budget tech for your wallet. Meaning for the price it definitely a good deal. Works perfectly & you don’t have to pay an arm & a leg. Love how slim it is, doesn’t take up a lot of space. Like how the cord tucks up underneath for better storage, not to mention this way you don’t loose the cord. Also like the cloth case it comes with to keep it protected from scratches & dust when not in use. Playback is great, easy to use controls. Also, you can adjust the speaker so if your own computer speaker is not loud enough, you can just turn it up through the player. The player itself is very quiet running, barely any noise. So you don’t have to worry about that noise over powering the movie or music you’re enjoying. Seems to be a pretty durably made. Easy setup, I just plugged in & played automatically after loading a disc. I have a MacBook Pro, no issues whatsoever. They do give you directions on how to eject your disk, depending on what type of laptop you may own. Also comes with an extra power cord for the device itself, so if you needed extra power to run the device because your laptop is low power. If you need more power, the light will blink. I have watched 4 DVDs, & listened to 1 cd so far. I would recommend this device 100%.

I had purchased this to convert old music CDs onto laptop as laptops no longer disc compatible. It was very easy to connect. It’s super small so when I’m not using it, I could put it in a drawer and it worked really fast and converting the CDs. I had over to my laptop. If you’re looking to move stuff quickly, but you are not it person this is what I would recommend as I was able to set it up and use it without any issues.. exactly what I was looking for to burn the music on my laptop from old CDs

Since HP feels it no longer necessary to include a CD-ROM with their computers, I got this so I can transfer some of my old CD's to the computer. It's very user-friendly and easy to use. It's very compact, lightweight, and quiet. The unit is very sleek and thin, so be prepared when you go to load a disc in the tray. I'm always afraid of breaking it, so I try to be extra careful. It works very well for ripping CD's to the computer or even just listening to them. My only complaint is that some discs it glitches trying to read them. For example, my Bowling for Soup Greatest Hits CD has 10 tracks, and for whatever reason, this thing reads it as having 35 tracks. I've tried using different software and even trying to open it within the device itself, and it reads it the same way no matter what. So it's either an issue with the unit itself or a problem with how some of the CD's are coded. I haven't figured out a way around it, so just be advised if you're going to buy this unit.

This thing has been great. I’m in the process of transferring all my CDs onto my laptop and back in the day this would have easily taken me 5-7 days but I got through everything (150+ CDs) in just two days. Only issue I’ve had is that sometimes the tray struggles to open (meaning it won’t open at all and will instead start reading and trying to transfer the same CD). Usually I just have to hit “eject” a couple times but on a few occasions I’ve had to unplug and cut power to the CD drive, plug it back in and immediately hit the physical eject button and that always worked. TIPS FOR OPERATING: •Don’t click “remember my selection” when initially asked if you want to transfer the contents. This way, if the tray fails to open, it won’t automatically begin re-transferring files •If using iTunes, go to Settings and toggle “Error correction” on. This slows the process but can fix reading errors on CDs (this saved me from having to buy a new copy of a CD for $60). It still only takes about 10 minutes to convert a CD with that toggled on so still quick.

This is great! It couldn't be easier to set up! I also love how small, compact, and light weight it is, so it's easy to keep in my laptop bag and pull it out whenever I need it! I also love the design on the top of it, it gives it that extra little "oomph" to look more luxurious!

Love love love this. I have a Mac book no longer has a CD player in it. This bad boy hooked right up to it and Wa-lah! I am able to watch my 100s of DVDs again. Super light weight, had no issues with playing the DVDs/ Skipping etc. This is only good for my computer- which is great for travel anyway.

Good buy, for the time being. I bought this right before Christmas, but recently it's been having problems reading the DVDs I put in. I have tried both the USB and the USB-C port and I can't get anything out of it. When I first got it, it was extremely easy to use. Just plugged it in my laptop and it would play. But about 20 DVDs later, it can't read a thing. I have been trying for the last 30 minutes to get it to read this one specific DVD (also while typing this review) and when I keep trying to manually spin it then put it in, it sounds like it hits something on the top of the unit. I'm worried it's scratching my DVD. While I'm writing a review of it, I should also mention that the compatibility is all over the place. It works with my Windows 10 laptop and my Windows 11 PC, but when i tried to plug it in to my girlfriend's Windows 11 laptop, the computer acted as if nothing was plugged in entirely. Not to mention, over the past few months, it's gotten increasingly louder as if something is falling apart in there and needs extra power to even work correctly. All in all, this is a great product, I just wish it lasted for more than 4 months.

This external dvd drive is exactly what I was needing, I originally purchased it to use with my computer since they don't come built in anymore but once I got it I realized I could also plug it right into my smart TV and use it as a DVD player for that! It comes with a little carrying bag and the cables are attached to the bottom and store flat into the drive. It worked right when it was plugged in and I'm so happy I can finally watch my DVDs again.

Garbage. Failed out of the box. Wouldn’t turn on.
