Excellent - Except for One Small Thing
My office where I work has very poor airflow, is always very warm, and the humidity can get as low as 20%. I needed a solution to enable me to work comfortably all day. I did some research on evaporative coolers and settle on this one, mainly because of the size of the tank. I didn't want to have to constantly refill it during the day, but I also did not want something that would be difficult to fill because of a large size. The unit stands taller than I expected, but it looks nice, so it's not an issue. With multiple computers and monitors in my office, the temp could easily rise to around 76 degrees F. The lowest seeting keeps my office at around 69 degrees (with no ice packs) and 40% humidity. The only issue I have with this unit is the way you have to read the water level. Other reviews stated the fact that it is difficult to read the water levels, and that is indeed true. There are five small windows on the front where you "should be able" to read the water level, but it is difficult and you will need a flashlight. I find that it is easier to use my flashlight and look inside the unit from the back. to do this, I have to move the unit away from the wall. Not a huge issue, but one that could be easily remedied with an update in the design. But, the unit does exactly what I needed it to do - cool my office. It is relatively quiet - I use it on the lowest Comfort setting. The oscillating feature is nice because it moves the air around my office. Sometimes I don't mind my office being a little warmer if I at least have moving air.I purchased a gallon water tank from Amazon for refilling. I find that when I set the unit to cool and the fan on 1 (it goes from 1-3), 7 gallons of water will last for 8 hours of continuous use.One thing to keep in mind is that this unit will add humidity to your environment. This works for my because my office is so dry. To prevent the buildup of excess humidity, you must have airflow to your room. So, with this unit, working with my door closed for long periods is not an option. On the first day of use, I left my door closed and the humidity go up to 60%. It seems as though the more humid it gets, the cooling is less effective. So, I keep my door open about halfway and I am comfortable all day. If I need to work with my door closed, I keep an eye on the humidity level with a small digital hygrometer on my desk. If it gets to high, I can turn the cooling function off for a while and just use the fan.Operation is very simple, the instructions were easy to follow, and the unit has just enough options. One thing that I would suggest is to maybe purchase a couple of better ice packs that stay cold longer.Excellent unit!!

Great Customer Service, Does the Job
Bought 2 of these units. The worst part was putting the casters on. They did not go on easily, needed a mallet and screwdriver to slowly nudge them in. Instructions are inadequate.Had an issue with my cooler at less than a year old where the remote wasn't working properly on one, and worked perfectly on the other unit. Also, the pump was not evenly pumping water down the sides, only down the back. And I did use a de-scaler made for coolers periodically throughout its use. I also used filtered water.Contacted customer service, they were very responsive, and after some troubleshooting, they sent me a new cooler. They sent me a return label to send the old one back. This unit does the job and cools down my 15 x 25 foot studio space in 10 minutes on very hot days. I live in a hot, very dry climate. When not using the cool/water feature, the fan alove provides very nice air circulation, and I like that you can regulate the vents for the air to go where you want it.

Best Humidifier, Very quiet, works well.
I use this unit as humidifier for my whole house. We all need humidifiers in winter since cold air holds little water vapor, as we turn on our heaters air becomes warmer and humidity drops (dry air), this is the reason behind bloody noses, sneezing, sore throats and itchy skin during winter, not only that but we feel much more comfortable and tolerate lower temperatures as humidity increases. This unit is well made with rigid media pads on 3 sides and a quiet 4 speed fan (high 110 watts, medium 84W, low 68W and comfort 55W ) The unit has a timer up to 12 hours and a remote control, the water pump (8 watts) has a float that turns the pump off if the water level becomes low, the unit can be water filed from the top or from a small door on the back (back door can be improved, made larger) The pump can be turned on or off in case we just want a fan, the vertical louvers can be turned to auto oscillate (air moves side to side), the horizontal louvres are manually adjusted only. The top of the unit is black made out of glass and the "virtual buttons" are touch sensitive The unit has wheels 2 of them with locking mechanism so moving the unit around is easy even when it is loaded. Over all I am very happy with this unit, I do highly recommend it. Remember to drain the water periodically since mineral do not evaporate and remaining water become harder. No no, once the humidity goes up a little the unit does not cool the air in the house, don't worry about it.

Stopped working after a month
Had this product 1 month. Okay, bought it on 7/1/23 and we got it about 7/4 and it stopped working on 8/8/23 and I emailed Gorilla Gadgets last night, and I realize it might take a day or two for a response. Before anyone has anything to say, my husband was faithful in draining the water, adding and keeping an eye on the water level. We checked the outlet it was plugged into and it was good. Remote control didn't start it up. But, only works a month? Our central air went out so we had to figure out a reasonable alternative because of the cost to replace it. I must have been mistaken that this was a product we could count on. So, lets see if we get anywhere with the warranty process. To be continued....

COOLLLLL!!
I have had this Gorilla Gadgets Swamp cooler 5300 now for about a week and a half maybe. i really enjoy it (can't say I love it because it it not human) but I do really enjoy it. Keeps my living room cool from 95o outside to a nice 83o inside, and I only use it fan on 1 or 2 for the most part. If I am outside I will use 3 so it will be cool when I come back in. I had a bigger one (will not use name) but it was VERY LOUD!! this one even on 3 is much quieter and I have it in the same room as me @ about 15' away. So would say yes to getting this for your place. Remember it is NOT a Air conditioner so will NOT COOL YOUR WHOLE HOME. But it is very nice for it's size and did I say it is QUIET! Walter McL.
