I bought this for my non-verbal son. He doesn't use it, but it is a very cool tool that allows either the built-in prompts to be used, or you can manually record your own words for the buttons.

Honestly for the price this is so accessible. It's way more feasible to get families to use this than a cumbersome app when they're new to AAC. Also it's a great backup to have for kiddos who do use high tech AAC whose families maybe don't want to risk their device getting lost at a theme park or damaged at a pool outing. I took mine apart and it's feasible to program it as well as to add images over the display to mirror your current programs icons. It's a great pocket-sized device at an unbeatable price.

The record feature allows for you to use your own voice or record different phrases for the button than originally designed-great! Most of the assigned buttons are already so useful! The real surprise was the vilume. There are 3 settings and i thought the quietest was the loudest as first but boyo do these get loud! Very good for making sure you are heard but if you wanted a coms device that could be used without drawing attention this would not be it. The feel of the control itaelf is very nice, its got a soft finish that allows for good grip! So far very impressed for hownlittle it cost! Great quality, so much better than expected. It is long but hey it helps me not lose it

The way the tablets standard voices talk is hard for my autistic son to understand. I would recommend one with simple commands. The photos are misleading as the commands are full sentences and not simple words. Other then that the voice is clear and loud enough which is why I still gave 3 stars.

My grandpa has Parkinson's and has been unable to speak for quite some time. After a scare with an infection that landed him in the hospital, and finding it difficult to let anyone know he wasn't feeling well or right, I started searching for something that would help him convey basic needs and be easy enough for a very weak and technologically limited person to use. This very simple device will literally change his current existence. The ONLY reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I feel the instructions to record the Mode portion of the device was off somehow. We got it done in the end, but struggled far too much. It would have been helpful to have an option of a male or female voice for future versions of this device.

I purchased this as alternate to my childs larger more extensive AAC device. We will use this for vacations, church, being around family etc. and use the larger device for school. We love that all the buttons are programmable! :-) It's big but that's ok, because if my child drops it or misplaces it its won't be that hard to see when looking for it.

My son is a non verbal autistic 4yr old that loves this device. He also had an developmental and speech delay so finding things that he finds suitable/fun are either hit or miss. He has a real communication device but it's too overwhelming and heavy. He didn't take to this when I first bought it...maybe he wasn't in his "communication" era at the time but now he's using it to communicate with me. It blows my mind to see him using it bc before he just thought it was a toy that held no value but now he can't walk around the house without it.I definitely would love to see a Deluxe/Platinum version of this...maybe a extra row...or 2 😋😉.Maybe like:Wash handsAll doneSorryBrush teethNap timeBed timeHotColdGood morningGood nightI love youOr something to that effect. I got this for my nephew who is Autistic and non verbal hoping it would help him start telling us what he wants or needs a bit easier, and let me tell you it has been WONDERFUL, he doesn't get mad as easily because we can't understand what he is trying to tell us and it is easy for him to use. If your thinking about getting it I would say do it
