I've had several Mr. Coffee makers throughout the years. I needed a replacement for a Mr. Coffee maker that I'd had for many years. I decided to go with a higher quality model this time. This one is really nice, it has several very nice features such as a larger digital clock and stay warm feature of keeping coffee warm up to 4 hours. It was really easy to set up the delayed brew too.

This is a great machine; large capacity, nominal cost, quick brewing, and it makes delicious coffee.

I bought this to replace my 15 year old Cuisinart which had been leaking through the basket. This Mr. Coffee works fine but the design of the lid interferes with the angle of the carafe as you fill the machine. Basically, the lid won't open far enough to allow you to get the carafe at the correct angle to easily pour the last couple of cups of water into the reservoir. Very irritating. The timer set feature is not intuitive and it only stays on briefly - you have to be quick on the buttons to start the programming process and there is no mention in the instruction sheet how to change the "keep warm" setting (it defaults to 4 hrs, but I accidentally discovered you can cycle through 1, 2, 3, or 4 hrs by pressing the "Keep Warm" button). Finally, standard 12 cup filters are too small, the coffee runs over the side in the basket while brewing. Apparently 14 cup filters are hard to find - my grocery store doesn't carry them and they're kinda pricey online. The instruction sheet doesn't mention this or recommend a particular size/brand of filter, although in fairness the unit does come with a reusable filter. That's nice but I hate cleaning those things, I much prefer disposable filters. Anyway, giving it a generous 4*'s, because it does brew coffee well, and it's the first carafe I've ever owned that doesn't drip when you pour, but I would not buy this particular model again.

Very handy to have 14 cups! Make perfectly brewed coffee every time! Mr coffee are quality products you can count on. We had a problem with the first one the company replaced it and it works perfectly! We have 4 Mr coffee machines in each of the bedrooms and the studio . They all work excellently. We have been using these machines for years at our Hawaii beach home on molokai for our guests! Everyone likes them .

Yes, the reviewers are right about filling, just tip the top back all the way.The clock keeps perfect time, so a wake-up cup is nice.14 cups works, we have 3 coffee drinkers here.EDIT - One minor quirk... Measuring the water, I am left-handed, the design committee was right-handed... see photos....It seems a great idea to have the Logo on both sides of the carafe - AND THE NUMBERS, too.

We love this coffee maker because it makes almost 14 cups. The clock/timer works great and keeps time.This is our 2nd one because the heating element broke on the first one on one side and the pot was leaning.Well, that must be a design flaw because the same thing has happened with the 2nd maker we purchased.Another reviewer mentioned they took theirs apart and the plastic pegs that hold the heating element, 3 of the 5 were broken. I suspect at least 2 of ours is broken.The maker has a few other flaws that we can deal with, but the heating element breaking on the two we have had after about a year and half is not acceptable. If Mr. Coffee would fix this flaw, this would be a decent coffee maker.
